Rolling through Chicago on a road trip across the country, my husband and I decided to hit this place up for our anniversary. Unfortunately, our experience wasn’t great. The view was outstanding, but the food was just ok (compared to my beloved high-end Japanese cuisine in Denver). The service was also pretty bad, to be honest. I don’t know if our waiter was training someone, but we did not receive our drinks and were not approached again for almost 20 minutes after sitting down and then it took another 10 minutes to have our order taken after that. Things just didn’t seem to be running very smoothly, at least with our table, and for $300 for two people, I would expect the waitstaff to be ultra attentive. There are just certain things you expect… nothing should really stick out to you in a fine dining establishment… it should just be seamless, and it was not.The waitstaff also didn’t really seem to know the menu very well… any other fine dining restaurant I’ve been to, the waitstaff knows everything about the menu, but my husband is vegan and upon first ask, they didn’t seem to know what was available vegan and what was not and returned later with some more information, after we had already looked over the menu extensively and decided on what we wanted, which was not available vegan, of course. In the end, I just didn’t feel it was worth the money. If I’m paying that much, the service should almost OUTWEIGH the quality of the food, if not match it. And even though the food wasn’t incredible, the service certainly wasn’t either.

Overpriced. Margarita cocktail for 20+$ was absolutely tasteless. Rolls were ok. Slow service. I know better japaneese restaurants but for less money.

One of the fine dining Japanese fusion places in Chicago. Add it to your list. Pork belly and the crispy rice and mushroom fried rice are amazing. Great views. Service is top notch. Add this to your list

Disappointing Experience at Miru, St. RegisLocated within the upscale St. Regis hotel in Chicago, Miru presents itself as a luxurious dining destination. However, my recent visit revealed significant shortcomings that overshadowed its beautiful setting.Despite the elegant ambiance, Miru's menu felt pretentious and lacked authenticity. The fusion approach, combining North American styles with Asian influences, resulted in a diluted and unremarkable culinary experience. The sushi rolls were below average, akin to supermarket quality. The seaweed was unpleasantly soggy, and the rolls lacked uniformity in size and presentation. The Rainbow Roll, priced at $34 USD, was particularly disappointing, with mediocre fish cuts and an excessive amount of chives. While the staff were polite, their limited knowledge of Japanese cuisine was evident. This, coupled with the inflated prices and lackluster food quality, made the overall experience at Miru underwhelming.Despite its location in the St. Regis, Miru failed to deliver on its promise of exceptional sushi and an authentic Japanese dining experience. For those seeking quality and authenticity, exploring other options would be advisable such as omakase at AJI

We had the most amazing time thanks to the exceptional service from the staff, particularly our server Essyl. She is incredibly accommodating and ensures that you feel attended to from the moment you arrive until you depart, even when she's not physically present. We are consistently overjoyed when Essyl is assigned to our table. Without a doubt, she is one of the best servers we've encountered. Restaurant is amazing as well ?

This spot is a hidden gem. I love this place. It is located at the St Regis so it’s extremely nice, great selections for food and Japanese whiskeys. It is a smaller lounge so the bar was packed but aside from the staff, everyone there was friendly and welcoming, it was just all around a great vibe. The cucumber salad was so fresh and flavorful. Shoutout to Natcha and Eddie at the bar for being so amazing, I will be back just because of them. This is my new favorite spot and I really appreciate the staff here for making me feel comfortable.

Fantastic location, great views and service. The portions for the black cod were quite uneven, and there were also flies trapped indoors. Given how tall the building is it was concerning why there were flies trapped indoors.

U can’t spell midwest without mid and not only is Miru mid, the prices are atrocious for the izakaya level quality and ant sized portion of fish they serve. you will leave feeling hungry and half a paycheck poorer. Do not go

The Blue Fin Tuna Experience is one NOT to miss. We've dined several times at Miru and have always been very pleased with our food/service. The Blue Fin Tuna experience took it to another level! The sea urchin and tuna throughout the courses were the best! Fresh, delicate and presented in various ways. My favorite was the nigiri showcasing 4 parts of the tuna. Kat and Greg were the best as well as the chef of the event. 5 stars!

This place is amazing. The views, the food, the service - it's all perfect. Do yourself a favor and get the Bluefin Tuna and Crispy Shiso as well as the Shrimp Fried Rice. Sooooo good. Will definitely be back.

We were excited to visit as it lies within the new St. Regis, and it's a Lettuce Entertainment venue. We were very disappointed! Our plan was cocktails and dinner. However, after viewing the minimal menu, overpriced cocktails, and underwhelming atmosphere, (sadly the photos are rather deceiving of the space), we chose just 3 glasses of wine total and went elsewhere for dinner. From the hype, location, promotion, height, and prices, one would expect SO MUCH MORE! That said, we ordered a total of 3 glasses of wine Syrah, Saint Cosme, Côtes du Rhône (a mediocre wine priced at roughly $18 per bottle) We don't regret the visit, but it isn't likely we would return. There are just more exciting experiences in our beautiful city.
