Mom's Place - A Chicago Gathering Spot

A very fun bar. When you first walk in there are a ton of Christmas lights that line the bar/room. The bartender was upbeat and very friendly. There is a second level as well. We only had a few drinks here, not sure if they serve food or not. I would definitely go back next time I am in the area.

The bouncer pulled a knife on our bridal party.

We organized a wedding after party here with management weeks before the event. The whole wedding (50+ people) walked up and the bouncer insisted on charging cover ($10pp) for the entire group. We asked to speak to a manager and the bouncer immediately pulled a knife on us. It was truly one of the most shocking, overly aggressive moments of my life. I’m sure there was an obvious miscommunication, but he was extremely aggressive and unstable.

There are a lot of different spaces at Mom's Place -- a great place to make your hangout, you will meet people, make friends, hear some great jazz and some really bad karaoke -- relax with a beer and let Chicago welcome you.

Best dive bar in the area. What I’d recommend you to do is sit at the bar, drink a Chicago handshake, and enjoy some fried cheese curds.

Tried the Malort. Was appropriately not a fan. Bartender was excellent. Loaded tots are worth your time.

Never been to a karaoke joint that has a pay to play jump the queue system. I get that it's crowded, but watching drunk suburbanites pay $50 to cut in front of 20 people was insane.
