The food was great but the experience was just okay. I brought my mom for her birthday. They started with saying they were not our server but would grab us drinks which was cool. They they came back and asked if we had any questions and just wanted to take our order. Felt kind of rushed. The food came during our salads so they sat unfinished. Also, we wanted to order a bottle of wine with dinner and asked if they had a sommelier and the reply was yes, we have 3. Okay... can we talk to one? Then we were asked what kind of wine are you looking for? Um well Italian? not sure which is why want to talk to someone. Then someone came to ask us what we want, and it just wasn't the usual sommelier experience. I said what type of wine I liked, (an italian one) and he suggested Silver Oak which was on sale. (I know the price and it wasn't a good deal so I asked for something italian again) and he just pointed to a Chianti and price and that's it. No information at all on what we were drinking no other suggestions. Just the one and the Silver Oak. With such an extensive wine menu I thought someone should know something about it. The molten lava cake was amazing. Just didn't feel special here and I can't believe it since last time I came with my husband it was stellar and the best time. We went on Saturday night and I'm still thinking about how this could have been so much better and was disappointed.

Morton's is not what it once was. While the service was good, the steak, salad and sides we average at best. There are other steakhouses in the city which are much better. When you are paying top dollar for a special meal, you expect the experience to match. Quite simply, if you are looking for a special night out, go someplace else.

Excellent noon dinner at Morton's. Jim, the server, was so incredibly kind to my family member and I. The ribeye and huge double baked potato were wonderful. Even the bread was amazing. Jim made the dinner even more enjoyable with his smile and kindness ! I like to go where I'm appreciated and he made us feel that way.

Excellent service and food on a Saturday night. Steaks done perfectly and wonderful fish and seafood. Best of all is that you can have good conversation without a loud noise level or music in the background.

I ordered the Tomahawk steak. I asked for medium well. Came out overcooked. They agreed to remake it. It could have used a little more seasoning, but overall, it was good. I was celebrating my birthday also. They did mention my birthday when we checked in, but the waiter never acknowledged my birthday once we were seated.

Really. Everything wrong. Total price for 2 $390 with wine of $128.1. Atmosphere: diner level chairs and crowded rooms not befitting a so-called steakhouse like the name Morton used to represent.2. Service: all the finisse of a gas station attendant. Wine server could not open the bottle with 2 different openers . Seems the service process is more about them or turning tables, than it is a customer experience.3. Prices: somewhat exaggerated especially the wine. I noted in particular a 456$ bottle of wine from Sicily and I assure you no such level exists in Sicily.4. Food. Good was decent / good but not in line with the prices at all.Overall:Problem is, in a tourist city, these places will always be full regardless so they can continue to cut corners and raise prices. Chicago has many great small restaurants popping up all the time so do some googling first and forget the big names.

I heard about Morton's before and this is my first time here with my girlfriends. We ordered variety of items from menu and we loved every item. Our server was awesome. Definitely recommend this place for groups.

The waiter who served us had taken his 18% gratuity ($62.00)off when the bill got paid without our acknowledgement. Then we tipped him $62.00 in cash because we were unaware of the charges being taken off electronically...So, once we had spoken with management he assured us that the bill was rung up wrong and the additional $62.00 charge would be returned shortly. That was untrue no charges have been reversed or returned and it has been 10 days later.

I’d like to thank our waiter Dan (aka Bear :) for the amazing service he gave us last night on our anniversary dinner. Everything was so delicious! I had the filet mignon and my boyfriend had the prime New York strip.I would recommend getting the black truffle butter on top as well as the non-alcoholic sparkling lavender drink. We look forward to dinning here again in the furture!

My wife and I ate here last week and had a wonderful dinner. The steaks were excellent , grilled to perfection and tasty as can be. We had a number of sides which were all delicious!the server could not have been more friendly or attentive. He was great. The restaurant has that old time fancy steakhouse atmosphere, dim lighting and quiet, friendly atmosphere. The only thing that was disappointing was that they no longer offer the chocolate soufflé for dessert. This was an outstanding item and one of the reasons to go to Morton's. In Chicago there are plenty of places to get a great steak in a steakhouse atmosphere. You can also get a Milton chocolate cake in most fine dining places, but the soufflé was unique. Why you take something as well liked as this was makes no sense to me. If it was a cost issue, adding $5.00 to the price in a place like this would not bother people. Obviously what the customer wants is not very important.
