Definitely a cool vibe. They said they're going for boutique, European hotel and they definitely achieve it. Rooms are a small but functional and the bed was really comfy. Also really enjoyed the shower. Pressure was good and the small space felt like an isolation chamber (in a good way). Also staff was super helpful! Shout out to Oleg who let me use a quieter space to make a call before my room was ready.

Odd place wasn’t relaxing and the room smelled like incense .

1st time in Chicago and someone had suggested Moxy...man HELLA worth it. Location is unbelievably prime??? I could get around wherever I wanted to easily (The Bean is so close) and for a first time in Chicago or a unknown time, I think Moxy is a great place, value is great.

Good vibes and really nice staff. Room Make Up was also sublime. Shout out to Oleg at the front desk, he was affable, responsible and welcoming. Also shout out to my boy Ricky at Zombie Taco, he was COOKING cooking. I didn't take any photos because the food was too good (get the Mexican Salad, you won't regret it).

Friendly staff and fun lobby area. Bedrooms are small but great if you're traveling solo and want an area with great walkability and hopefully close to where you want to go.

Rooms are tiny, no closet, no iron, no fridge, shower was protruding out and 2 feet from my bed, no coffee in the room.
If your 25 and looking for a fun hang out place it might be ok. If you are 50 and in town for business you won't be happy. I had to press my shirts out in a hallway common area.
Everybody working there was cool, not on them

The room is strange. Has a sink and shower in the bedroom??

We always love staying at The Moxy’s! Nashville and Chicago fun!!! Absolutely love the vibe! The Zombie Taco located in the lobby (Chicago location) is everything. It’s perfect and so convenient. Customer service is always spot on. Thanks, Moxy!

I am giving this a 5 star review because I could never throw a business under the bus, but I think it’s very important to know the following before booking a room here. I will start with the “bad” aspects:

-check into the hotel as early as possible, especially if it’s a weekend. Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights make it extraordinarily difficult to navigate through the crowds of people in the lobby and there is no easy route to the elevators when the bar is crowded. Yes, you know the kind of hotel you’re booking, but they should 100% have an easier way of getting from A to B.

-the bed was wildly uncomfortable. Even if you aren’t anticipating the best bed you’ve ever slept on, it’s less than ideal. Also, it seemed very small for a “queen,” and the comforter was like a rug.

-the room has ZERO amenities. Despite being a boutique style hotel, we expected a little more. No mini fridge, no microwave, 1 roll of toilet paper, not enough towels, no coffee/water, etc. You are just getting a room. Which is fine, but at the rates you’re paying, you want some of the basics.

Here is the GOOD:

-the location is as close to perfect as you can be. Right in the downtown area, but away from most of the chaos

-the staff at both the desk and bar are extremely helpful and friendly. Every employee we dealt with was awesome. The bartenders were especially top notch.

-the lobby, when not packed full, is super cool. Games, records, bar, restaurant, etc.

Overall, the good and bad are pretty even. With that being said, as long as you go in with the expectation that you’re not going to be staying in the nicest hotel of all time, this is a solid spot.

Rooms have no amenities. One small cart for extra towels and that’s it. No mini fridge, no table space or chair, the shower has nothing keeping the water from flooding the floor. If you want anything to drink, make sure you get it while everything is still open because there’s no vending machines at all. So getting a bottle of water at 6am was not an option. We asked for an extra blanket and were told they don’t have any housekeepers on staff at the moment. No extra toilet paper in the room.

I’ve stayed in a few Moxy hotels across the country and always had a great experience. My recent stay in Chicago tho was the first time really needing support from the staff and they were so kind and helpful throughout my entire stay.

When I was checking in, there seemed to be some sort of issue with my reservation. Oleg was the one who helped me sort out the problem, gave me a little discount, and got me into a room with a view. Later I found out a window latch was broken in the room and talked to Cristal who immediately sent someone to investigate then communicated with me on what the next steps were.

I really appreciated both of their prompt responses and helpfulness during my stay. It put me at ease knowing I was in good hands :)

The staff here are some of the nicest most accommodating people we have met. They went above and beyond to make our stay over the holiday weekend amazing with my teenage kids. We have stayed here many times and plan on returning next time we come to Chicago! The location is great if you want to be downtown, the rooms are on the smaller side but have everything you need and are very clean. The lobby is fun and the price is great! Highly recommend.

My first choice when I come to Chicago. An eclectic atmosphere with friendly staff, delicious cocktails and one of a kind room setups.
