Nice people good price. Bought hotdog special. Unfortunately the buns were mushy. Pickle at bottom of bun made the bun soggy.I never seen chopped tomatoes on a hotdog. Only slices should go on. This also made the bun wet. Ill try again someday. Maybe Ill try a burger.

Not a fan of the Italian Beef here, but that’s my only complaint. It’s a great place to get some hot dogs, a generous serving of fries, and a beer.
Standard Chicago fast food ambiance, exactly what you want, except for the outdoor seating which is extra nice. Staff is nice.
It’s usually not too busy. Very close to good breweries, the blue line, etc.

I have eaten here a handful of times over the past year and typically it is a great meal, so I don’t know if this was an off day or something changed recently. Got a full pound of shrimp and a dry Italian beef. The beef slapped and was good quality, but the shrimp were obviously refried…. Terrible quality. They were so dry and chewy - inedible! Last time I order the shrimp. Stay away from the shrimp unless you wanna gamble throwing your money away.

I love it here. It’s open late. They have my favorite burger and my favorite Philly Cheese Steak. Also it’s rarely busy. It’s across the street from McDonalds and way way way better. Don’t go there, come here instead!!

Love this spot for a quick bite anytime I'm in the area. They have beer too!
Tried to call in and place a order, asked for a #5 double cheeseburger special, the lady on the phone says they don’t have a #5, I said well can I have a double cheeseburger special, she says they don’t have one, then I said well can I get a double cheeseburgers and she hung up on me, then I walked into the restaurant and order a #5?, food was ok but I didn’t like being lied too

The gyros from this place were DRY. Some of the meat was almost burnt. Also ordered a tamale that they didn't even bother taking it off the plastic wrapper. Super disappointing

Pure and simple Chicago-style hot dog. Quick service, counter-style hole in the wall. $4 is edging on the more expensive end for a dog with no fries, but not altogether unreasonable.

I have never had a bad experience at Mr. E's until last night. And It wasn't necessarily a bad experience, but a frustrating one. I went in last at 9:45 and wanted a Italian beef, fries and soda. Was told by the girl at the register who seemed a little bothered that I walked in that the only thing they were serving was sandwiches cause they were closing. I asked what tine they closed, she said 10 and I said it was only 9:45 and she just shrugged. They should really remove their hours on the door or post a notice that says they only serve certain items at certain times. It was disappointing.
