Never got a chance to try the food. Ordered for delivery and called when it was 30 minutes late and was told they can’t find a driver. At no point did the restaurant proactively call us to let us know they were having issues.

I was more than willing to try again because things happen, but the manager/chef on the phone was so incredibly rude to me and hung up on me that I will never give them my business again. I’m in the industry. I offered potential solutions to which he told me “good for you - things happen” Of course things happen. He could have said “I would love to be able to do that for you, but unfortunately this is where we are now. I’m going to refund you and would love to have you in the space another time. I wish we would have called you the moment we discovered the issue but hindsight is 20/20 and I will use it as a learning opportunity”

How you respond to the situation is what matters, and unfortunately the response is why I am leaving this review. I never raised my voice nor was I rude, but the person on the phone chose to be intentionally combative with me. This isn’t how you run a business and it’s not how you handle customer issues. This was my first and unfortunately now only experience with this business that I had really high hopes would become a new neighborhood favorite.

I would encourage you to reflect upon how you treat customers during times of stress and/or when things don’t go your way. Might I recommend the book Unreasonable Hospitality to better understand how to treat customers.

You have my contact information and I’m willing to remove my review if you decide to reach out and make this right. I don’t expect anything free. I never asked for anything free. But an apology goes a long way.

Great space and fantastic food! Pizza is great and the pasta is the kind I wish I could reproduce at home. So good. Spritz Munno was a great start to a fun evening.

I came here for dinner and it was lovely! Our waiter was very friendly and informative about the menu. Sadly they were out of a few menu items but what we had was delicious! I enjoyed the pizza more than the pasta we ordered, and bright side they had vegetarían options!

This food and service is rare in Chicago. The food is rich authentic Italian. Let me stress the word “Rich”.The service is superb. Incredibly the servers always have a deep understanding of the menu and I’ve never felt like there is a rush to have us eat and leave. Over 6 years we have never been disappointed. It is clear the owners care about this business. Theyshare it with us with old world diligence and charm.

From the moment we stepped into Munno Pizzeria and Bistro, we were greeted with a warmth that only foreshadowed the delightful evening ahead. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between elegance and comfort, making it an ideal setting for any occasion. Each dish we ordered was a testament to the chef’s mastery over Italian cuisine, blending traditional flavors with a modern twist that left us savoring every bite. The pizza, with its perfectly charred crust and innovative toppings, was a highlight, while the pasta dishes were reminiscent of a culinary journey through Italy. What truly sets Munno apart, however, is the impeccable service. The staff’s attention to detail and genuine care for the dining experience made us feel truly special. Our dinner at Munno Pizzeria and Bistro wasn’t just a meal; it was a memorable dining experience that we’re already looking forward to repeating. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, missing out on this Michelin-starred gem would be a mistake. Bravo to the Munno team for exceeding our expectations!

This place is just the absolute best. Husband and I live in the neighborhood and go somewhat often. It never disappoints. In fact our last experience was probably the best of them all (and all the prior experiences were excellent). They had a melted leek, ricotta, and sausage pizza that was probably the best pizza we've ever had. Then finished off with a perfect goat cheese basque cheesecake. The service is always impeccable (we love Troy!) and the fact that they've maintained the same folks for years speaks volumes about how much management values them.12/10 - run don't walk.

I will do my best to properly articulate what a spectacular time we had at Pizzeria Munno! My wife and I had wanted to come here for a while and finally found a time on Valentine's Day.Our server and wait staff were so kind and personable and could not have asked more from them.We ordered an appetizer of Bufala and Prosciutto, which was light and delicious. For the main course, we couldn't pass on the pizzas and ordered (forgive me, I forget the names), but the pepperoni pizza with drizzled Italian honey and then the artichoke pizza. They both were both so different, but incredible in their own ways.Lastly, we ordered dessert, to which they had a special pistachio Bundt cake slice drizzled with olive oil.I would highly recommend this restaurant and am regretful it took us so long to patronize. I can't wait to return and eat more scrumptious food!

The beet salad and potato pizza were delicious! I hope they put the beet salad on their permanent menu. Great little spot, need a reservation, especially on the weekend.
