Stopped by and tried the Hyderabadi style shawarma and it really hit the spot. The flavor took me straight back home. It’s not your typical shawarma, the spices and taste feel authentic and homemade. The meat was juicy and everything was fresh. Definitely one of the best shawarmas I’ve had around here.

Tried their haleem today and honestly, it’s one of the best haleem spots on Devon. The flavor was on point and really well balanced. The staff was really good and the service was fast. The guy at the front counter was super friendly and welcoming. Definitely coming back.

Recently tried this spot and the beef biryani was actually so flavorful. For dessert we tried their gulab jamun and those made it an elite experience.

I recently visited Nawaz Gulshan after quite some time, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience! The chicken platter I ordered was absolutely delicious, with generous portions and top-notch quality. The flavors were spot-on, and the quantity was more than satisfying. Muqeet Bhai, the owner, truly makes the place special with his warm hospitality and dedication to quality. I regret not coming here more often, and I definitely recommend Nawaz Gulshan to anyone looking for delicious, quality food and a welcoming atmosphere.

I’m not from Chicago, but I had to leave a review after eating here. The food genuinely reminded me of Hyderabad. Everything tasted fresh, rich, and full of authentic flavor. The Zafrani mutton biryani was outstanding. You could tell it was made with care and proper spices, not watered down . The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable, which made it even better.
What really stood out was the service. The staff was warm, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. It honestly felt like being at a neighborhood spot back home. Whenever I’m back in Chicago, this will be one of my first stops again.

Very Authentic Hyderabadi food. Much better than any other Hyderabadi restaurants at Devon. Plenty of parking. I was there for the first time. Traveled 35 miles to eat at Nawaz Gulshan and they didn't disappoint.
Management is very humble and down to the earth. Nawaz Gulshan is Top 1 recommended at Devon for who ever would like to eat Authentic Hyderabadi dishes. My kids and family enjoyed the food.

A hidden gem off Devon Ave on Western. If you like home made authentic Indian cuisine try this restaurant. The prices are extremely affordable and the food is delicious. I hope more customers visit this restaurant.

I had one of the most disappointing experiences at Nawaz Gulshan. I placed an order for Nalli/Narai Paye and was clearly told that it would be ready within 5 minutes. Based on that assurance, I waited. After some time passed, I personally walked up to inquire about my order, only to be told that it would now take over an hour. This kind of misleading information is completely unacceptable and shows a total lack of coordination and honesty.

What made the experience even worse was the behavior of the staff. The person handling orders was busy talking on the phone, completely ignoring customers. When he finally responded, his tone was extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. There was no apology, no explanation—just careless and disrespectful communication. The way he spoke reflected a complete lack of discipline and basic customer service manners.

If the item was not ready or required more time, they should have communicated that clearly from the start instead of wasting the customer’s time. This level of mismanagement and arrogance shows that they do not value their customers at all.
I strongly advise management to train their staff on basic etiquette, honesty, and customer handling. Until then, I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are plenty of other restaurants that respect their customers’ time and treat them with courtesy—unfortunately, Nawaz Gulshan is not one of them.
Very disappointing experience. Will not be visiting again.
