Amazing jollof
The best african food ever very fresh and on point
I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this restaurant in Chicago was simply unacceptable. Poor customer service. Poor environment. Completely underwhelming.
I had hoped my honest review would prompt some form of accountability or improvement—but instead, I’ve been berated and even threatened for simply sharing my personal experience.
Let me be clear: I do not tolerate bullying or intimidation—online or offline. Every customer deserves the right to express their experience, especially when it’s this disappointing.
To the owners and staff: Instead of harassing reviewers, try fixing what’s broken.
To anyone considering this place: I strongly suggest you think twice. I wish someone had warned me.
Great rice and goat. Great fufu and traditional juice.
My husband and I love this restaurant! The food is amazing and the owner is so kind! We drive an hour every other weekend since we don’t have food as good as this in our hometown. Definitely check them out, the fufu and egusi is my favorite and my husband loves the jolif rice
Of course you wouldn’t take responsibility a Nigerian Igbo man’s typical way.
Do you recognize everyone that comes to your store? Anyways just do better.
Incase you want me to talk about your food then go ahead and try to be dismissive again. Nobody hired me I was at your store and I bought food.
Had the jollof rice—it was incredible! Quick and easy meal, will definitely come again.
Vegetarian options: Just say no meat added.

I ordered a pan of nkwobi and came to pick it up, only to see that the pan Anayo used was not washed / rinsed because it still has the red bundle seal intact and he has packed/ placed the nkwobi on top of it as can be seen clearly on the picture, I tried calling his attention to it but he started sounding defensive telling me it doesn't matter. The level of dirtiness I have noticed in this restaurant is alarming.

Food is fresh, well seasoned, absolutely delicious. Came back 2 days in a row. Good portions. I was really impressed with the fish and hen chicken that came with the jollof rice. And the meat pies were my absolute fav.

Organic review: I rated the two meals and meat I had 11/10. I had Fisherman's soup and jollof rice with meatpie. It's literally the BEST food I've eaten in a restaurant in Chicago! I have been talking about this food for the past 3days now. And I randomly discovered the place with my friends on Saturday.

I appreciate this is an Igbo forward Nigerian Restaurant. Which is a breath of fresh air. However, when you try to order anything Igbo..... they dont have it. Why have it on your menu if we can not get it??? Ridiculous. Additionally, the atmosphere is less than satisfactory. I belive you should add light bulbs to the the light fixtures and maybe a new coat of paint. It would enhance the beauty of the place. Maybe even some nigerian art. Plus, you customer service needs improvement while there I noticed the server being unkind to a patron. You are a nigerian restaurant in AMERICA.... you must be kind to the Americans. They will be the people mainly patronizing your establishment due to your higher prices. Also, if you do not have something that is on the menu... take it off, or inform the people prior to them requesting something they had their hearts set on. I believe this business could be a force to be reckoned with if some changes are made.... changes need to be made.
