Quaint little coffee shop in the South Loop. I snagged a tumeric latte and it was solid; the staff was very helpful with recommendations too. In an area that has several good cafe options, you should definitely give them a look. It's chill, not pricey and has a lot of options.
My go-to neighborhood spot
I live in the area and come to Necessary & Sufficient all the time. it’s become my neighborhood work spot. The coffee is consistently great, and the vibe makes it easy to settle in for a bit. Sundays are extra fun with the dope DJ setting the tone,it feels more like a community gathering than just grabbing coffee.
Kate, the owner, is fantastic — welcoming, and you can tell she cares deeply about the space...

the inside of this place was really pretty, and the non coffee items looked great (soups!) but I feel like I shouldn’t have to pay almost $10 for an iced latte… it was smooth with a nice texture but didn’t have a lot of taste, which sucks esp. when I specifically asked for a pump of mocha (im pretty sure they just gave me vanilla.) wanted to like it :(
