Great dinner at Nic + Junior's!!! Adorable cozy restaurant with great service and delicious food!!! It's tucked away like the hidden gem it is. We will definitely be back.
Nic & Juniors is right in the middle of everything and you'd never know it from the inside. It's charming and the food is delicious!
It is difficult to find. The food was OK. Nothing special in my opinion. The drinks were really good, but the music was way too loud even after having it turned down.
First time at this restaurant and the service was fantastic by our waiter Tim! The Ala vodka pasta adding chicken was delicious and the Carmel expresso martini
Definitely will not be going back. I'm really kind of surprised by the good reviews here. We had a terrible experience, from the beginning to the end. The only saving grace was our waitress, Paula. She was very sweet. Not great, but sweet. Ok. First, traffic was bad so we were running late, but I called twice to let them know this. We ultimately only arrived about 15 minutes late. We then waited an hour for our table. And all we got was constant apologies and explanations that people were dawdling at their tables. No offer for a comped drink. No offer even for water. We finally went to the bar for two drinks, and after the bar tender acknowledged us and said she'd be right with us, we waited 20 minutes, standing at the bar, for two drinks. The tab was $55 (incl $7 tip she didn't really deserve). When we finally got to our table, service was slow and inattentive. As nice as she was she still never asked how our food was. They did send over one (not two??) comped drink we didn't even order. Ok ... ?? Their rolls were amazing. The entrees were decidedly not. They were rather bland and salty. Salt is used to hide the fact that food is too bland. I had a gnocchi that was overcooked and my husband had the half chicken that was drowned in some ... butter sauce. We ate more out of hunger than because we were enjoying the food. Oddly, though, even with 2 entrees and a moderate $64 bottle of wine the tab was just $170 (pre-tip), so I'm still curious how those two bar drinks were $48 (pre-tip). Overall, a terribly underwhelming evening. Won't be going back.
We have seen restaurants come and go at this location, we were very excited that Nic + Juniors might have more staying power. Service was very attentive, small, charming dining room with open view of the kitchen. Started off with very slow drink service, but once we got rolling, everything was excellent. Drinks, rolls, salads, and the pasta...wow! Really great meal!!!
Service from the kitchen was slow but our waiter came by often and even gave us a round of free drinks. They took good care of us and were apologetic about the wait. We'll give it another try for sure!
Very warm and inviting place to eat. Nic greeted us. Hostess was friendly. Server was friendly. Staff bringing food to table friendly. And food was absolutely delicious. Had two amazing appetizers - tuna tartar and a burrata salad and really special scallop dish and we tried two different desserts also amazing soft serve ice cream and flan and coffee too delicious and rose wine wonderful. Such a lovely evening. Highly recommend.
Went with wor colleagues and had a great time! Food was great, service was outstanding! Will come back for sure!
Great ambiance! Perfect atmosphere for date night, catching up with friends or just a nice dinner out. The service was great and the food was very tasty. Must try the Sticky cake espresso martini! Yum!

The staff was very friendly from the bartender to the bus people. It seemed like everyone helped one another. The food was very good. We went during Chicago Rest. week. We had the cheese, white beans, and Burrata appetizers. The seafood risotto and steak were delicious. We really loved the Flan with bourbon sauce for dessert. It is difficult to find the restaurant but we're glad that we gave it a try. We would definitely dine here again.
Our entire meal was fantastic and the margaritas are excellent! Definitely get the picanha if you like steak. Cooked and seasoned to perfection! I can't say enough about the awesome service! We had a spectacular dining experience thanks to Matt, Kenya, Charlotte, and crew and we can't wait to go back again!
I was excited to try out Nic and Junior's during Restaurant Week. My table was not ready when I arrived, and I was offered a seat at the bar while waiting, or I could just have dinner there. I figured, why not eat at the bar, but I was ignored. So, I let the manager know I'd wait for my table instead of eating at the bar. Other than this hiccup at the bar, service was amazing, and the food was, too.
We were first time diners here. The food was amazing! We had the restaurant week specials. Tania was an excellent server!
What a gem! My party of 5 gals had a fantastic time here. A little off to get to, more signage was discussed with the GM, but overall we had a truly great experience. We visited for restaurant week and everything was perfect - burrata panzanella should stay on the menu. Staff was incredibly friendly. Looking forward to visiting again when the weather warms up.
