Despite it's heritage as a Japanese bar, it's got far more in common with other beloved Chicago dive bars.

One the best and few dive bars left standing in Wrigley. Try the infused malört!

I used to come here all the time. Loved it, but back then I was a regular. I guess, only go there if you are a regular. So sad, but I won’t be going back.

One of Chicago’s best, and I do not say that lightly. Where else are they infusing Malört with such reckless passion, or fully covering the pool table every time they suspect the crowd may get a bit too drunk to show it the respect it deserves? Certainly the coolest bar in Wrigleyville and maybe also top 10 in The World.

Came in here on a Friday night and honestly wish we’d gone literally anywhere else. The female bartender with the mask on was super friendly with a bunch of obvious regulars at the bar, joking around and refilling their drinks nonstop, but the way she treated us was a completely different story. We were standing right at the bar with our cards out and she just kept blowing past us to serve people who walked up after we did. After about 20–25 minutes of being skipped, we finally got her attention and she acted annoyed we were even asking for drinks. Short answers, no eye contact, rolled her eyes when we asked about one of the beers like we were bothering her. Meanwhile the (white) regulars right next to us were getting the full VIP treatment. It really felt like we were being singled out, and as a person of color it’s hard not to connect the dots there. We mentioned it to another staff member and they basically shrugged it off, which honestly made it feel even worse. I’m not expecting five‑star service at a dive bar, but I do expect to be acknowledged and treated like everyone else. We finished one drink and left. If you care at all about how you’re treated, or you’re not part of the “regulars only” crowd, I’d skip this place—there are plenty of bars around here that don’t make you feel like you don’t belong.

Far and away the best bar in Wrigleyville. It Brimming with history while retaining its authentic and unpretentious dive atmosphere, it could easily rest on its laurels, but it doesn't; the service is friendly and the drinks are affordable. Perfect for a visit before or after a game, or any other time, honestly.
Decent dive bar. Im not sure if the bartender was having a bad day but she pretended not to see me and when she finally approached me she was extremely rude. Hopefully she has a better day moving forward.

Great dive bar with a rich history. $4 tall boys! It is pronounced “Knee - Say.”

Malort might genuinely be the most pleasing liquor I've drank, don't be a wimp
