Anita’s Gumbo namesake is amazing. I appreciate the staffs and managers kindness to me even though I have autism and their food is amazing and really good. Owner Ross and Cynjora is very nice. The restaurant is in good condition. Great gumbo. Must come back. 10/10.

Just ordered the large shrimp gumbo, VERY UNIMPRESSED, this was my first time ordering from here, this is basically a roux with meat and let me be clear the shrimp were not large, this is soup not gumbo

I ordered the signature bowl gumbo for the first time and loved it. It was ready quickly and just the right temperature. They have a neat and clean lobby but nowhere to sit and wait for your order to.

Combo gumbo full of rice and sausage, no juice or rue which is what makes a good gumbo. Waste of my money it’s just a bowl of rice with shrimp chicken n sausage

The vegetables in the gumbo (celery, green peppers and onions) were not cooked AT ALL. It’s like they were an afterthought. Large and crunchy. The roux is watery and lacks flavor. Very disappointing.

This is the 2 nd time I’ve eaten here. The flavor of the food is wonderful. The customer service is really good!!! And it’s very clean in the front and in the kitchen!!! You guys are doing great!! I enjoyed my experience.

Ordered this place on Uber eats. I paid $20 for the gumbo, $15 for the combo gumbolaya, the $20 gumbo came in a MUCH smaller container than the Combolaya. So I know in the future to avoid this place via delivery.
I had great experiences in person. I just want folks to know via delivery they’re swindling you. I dreamed ALL DAY about this gumbo and got screwed.
EDIT!!: The restaurant replied and I will increase my previous service rating for the promptness of the response. The food difference in the two items still felt significant to me though. I did combine items in a larger bowl and felt I had less food for $20 than my partner for $15. The food is delicious but I still felt I should’ve had more as she did. I know next time to order use both a combo-laya as the way it’s combined and packed felt more full.
Food still amazing. Edited my review to improve my opinion on service and overall. The restaurant offered a thorough explanation of packaging, as I said I just still felt I had less food in the end due to the packaging.

EVERYYYYtime. And this been for years. These people are always closed during operational hours. It’s 4 pm on a Thursday. Why are you closed. I finally had some the other day and was surprised they were open. I don’t know they’re lazy or what but they’re barely open when they are suppose too. This the reason I forgot abt them for years because they barely be open so the other day was my one n done is what it is tried to come back and they closed?? crazy
