Nookies Too is a solid place to get decent grub! The food isn't exciting but it's solid and filling. I will say this, too: if you're a fan of chicken soup like I am, theirs is fantastic! My price for a bowl of soup, a soft drink, and an appetizer came in around $15 - not bad!My server was very, very quiet but also very, very efficient, which I appreciated. He just wordlessly took care of everything before I could even ask. And, as I was on a lunch break, I completely appreciated that I was able to enjoy lunch in a full service restaurant and be in & out in less than 45 minutes!
We had two skillets; food was not bad; portion was very filling.interesting/unusual observation - we dined at 9am and there were about 3-4 tables of diners. We were guided to a back room - away from people as coughs and colds run rampant is always nice - and no one else joined our section. When we left, there were about 8 tables filled in the main room. It was monochromatic. Maybe it was just a coincidence. Or at least I hope so.
The food is ok, I was there around 1 pm and the place was pretty empty. I feel rushed as the waiter kept asking me if I'm ready to order, super serious and have not smile once. I get it not every day you feel like smiling but don't be rushing me when I was still eating asking if I need a box. I took that box and left. I won't be coming back.
Hi, I had an unfortunate experience of wait staff knocking over a bottle of hot sauce on my white shirt. While I know this was unintentional, it seemed to be disregarded, and the wait staff was completely avoidant for the remainder of the meal. I was hoping at least for some sort of apology, as it’s thanksgiving and now I’m walking to my family’s with a stained shirt. I’ll update the post if they reach out.
Warm, light and pleasing interior space. Lovely place for a quiet meal with friends or to linger by yourself and read. The staff are very friendly, food is good and large serving sizes, offering solid value for money. Quality espresso!
I've been coming to Nookies Too for over 30 years. It is still one of my favorite spots when I'm back in Chicago visiting. Many of the faces have changed, but the food is still delicious. I'll be back again soon.
Kid-friendliness: A great place for kids and families.
Parking: Street parking. Sometimes tough to find a spot.
The staff was pleasant and non rushing. My breakfast omelet was made to perfection and coffee was well balanced yet not overpowering. Sat and talked and never felt hurried.
Big portions
What a cool spot for breakfast / brunch. The menu is very diverse and full of options, the service is lovely and efficient. The coffee is delicious! When in the area, that’s your spot to go to!
Great food, friendly staff. Not overly stuffy or trying to be too trendy. Exactly what we were looking for in a diner.

While staying in Lincoln Park and we found this breakfast spot. The place was empty at 9 am on a weekday but still had a nice atmosphere. All the staff were friendly and service was speedy. The menu is quite large and has an array of breakfast options. The prices are a little steep at over $12 for pancakes / French toast but what isn’t these days. I went for the banana nut pancakes which were light, fluff and very tasty. The addition of sliced banana in the pancake batter was a good one. It is a large portion so for the price it’s not too bad. All the normal breakfasts seemed a tad expensive for the quality and portion. I’d still recommend this place despite the prices. You’re in a nice area in of big city after all.
First time visiting here after my daughter and her family told us they love it. We had six family members including my 6 year old grandson on this visit. We loved it having French Toast, Skillets, Scrambled, and chocolate covered silver dollar pancakes for my grandson. Excellent food, great service and pleasant atmosphere. A definite repeat visit will be on the horizon for us. Check it out. You’ll love it I’m sure.
Walked in on a Saturday morning for a quick breakfast. You MUST order the banana nut pancakes!Wait staff is very friendly and it’s the kind of place you just want to nurse your coffee at a little longer!
I ate a breakfast wrap. The eggs were cooked to perfection. The avocado and the salsa were fresh and delicious. I will visit again and again.
Cute interior. Simple food but good. I had the spinach and goat cheese frittata which came with toast and hash browns. Large portions. Frittata was creamy and delicious. Hash browns were a bit bland and dry. Still a good place for breakfast.
