Hsd a reservation for brunch with my fiance. First of all the doors are locked until 10:30 so if you earlier you wait outside in the cold. After sitting down Liz our server and other staff seemed great and the first two courses were excelllent. We had to leave before the final third course so I asked for the check and the last course to go. Inexplicably Liz became very short and rude as if this was a major inconvienience. Left her a tio shouldnt have. This at a Michellin restaurant. Upon contacting the manager he frankly didnt believe me saying Liz had been there for 6 years and was a customer favorite. He did add she had a pragmatic and strong personality whatever that is supposed to mean. Perhaps this crap had happened to other customers of hers? When I took the offer of the manager to remove her tip he too became a condescending jerk. Hey buddy dont offer if you are going to act like a juvenile. Many other great places in Chicago go elsewhere!!

I went to this place for my birthday. And what can I say, this place was gasssss ⛽️⛽️⛽️🔥🔥🔥

The seven course tasting menu was absolutely astonishing. Every course was thoughtfully prepared and absolutely delicious. Next time in Chicago, this will be my on my list to revisit.

IF YOU HAVEN’T BEEN, YOU ARE MISSING OUT!

Thank you to the chef and the great employees there. Cheers to a successful birthday adventure.

North Pond is located in Lincoln Park, not far from the zoo. They held a Michelin Star for about 7 years. I recommend using Spot Hero for parking or using rideshare to make it easier. If you use a rideshare, put in this address 2600 North Lakeview Ave. You’ll get dropped off and all you have to do is walk through that tunnel and you’re there. The service was immaculate from beginning to end. The dinner tasting was $136 per person. There is a free coat check or you can put your coat on the back of your chair.

So, some of the reviews sound a little fake. If they did such a bad job then where are the pictures to prove it? Sounds sus if you ask me. We went on a Saturday night and it was very busy. They were not understaffed nor did they make any mistakes. We came here to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday and they made it extra special. I’m not going to go through the tasting menu but everything was delectable from beginning to end. I left pretty content and I’m a big eater.

In the second course we got both selections. For the main course we got Jake’s lamb and pork. For dessert we got payaso and ube napolitano. I recommend trying out some of the refreshers. We got the partridge and pickle margarita. Both were different so it’s hard to pick a favorite. However, they were both equally good in their own category.

This was a place I was rather excited to try but left me frustrated and disappointed.
Starting with the most egregious issue: my wife is pregnant so for the first course, they substituted the venison tartare out for sweet potato. However, they served us the wrong plates and as my wife was about to finish her dish she comments to me how amazing of a job they did making the potatoes taste like meat. At this point I try mine and realized it didn't taste like meat at all! I told the staff who served us the dishes but his only response was that he was pretty certain that he served the correct dishes and at worst, he gave us both sweet potato versions. After trying some of the bits that fell off her taco I am 100% certain they mixed the dishes up.
At the end of the meal, they brought out a Happy Birthday board for my wife, but the board read the wrong name. Not a big deal, and something we laughed off, but another sign of disorganization.
Service was also quite slow, it seemed like they were understaffed. The whole 5 course meal took nearly 3 hours to complete. Many of our dishes came out lukewarm as well. Our server Jake was lovely and helpful though.
Food-wise, none of the dishes really stood out or felt well executed. The substituted sweet potato felt like a massive downgrade though I understand they can only do so much with substitutions. There were a few dishes with southeast Asian inspiration that we were excited to try but fell short of our hopes.
Wine selection looked solid and the chablis I had paired well at least with 2 courses. The mocktails here were also really good, so that was the one bright spot.

Wonderful experience! Although the menu states there are six courses, it's really nine. Every dish was uniquely wonderful and thoughtful. We hope to go again!

First time having brunch at North Pond. Fantastic meal and lovely service. Highly recommended if you want a stellar dinner, but also a top notch Sunday brunch!

Loved it so much. Not only was the food very tasty but it was fun an creative. Loved the pick a country and then season your soup with the herbs you cut. So fun. Always love coming here because they care about their food and coming up with new flavors and fun food. Can't say enough. Our favorite tasting menu in the city (and we've had them all).

An absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. The preset menu was phenomenal, huge thanks to the chefs for such a thoughtful and delicious progression of dishes. The music was a total vibe and set the tone perfectly for brunch. From the moment we walked in, we felt so welcomed. The hostess greeted us by name, took our coats, and promptly seated us, which instantly made the reservation feel special. The staff went above and beyond, even gifting our 6-month-old daughter the cutest blue herring stuffed animal, such a sweet and memorable touch. Peter, our waiter, was fantastic: attentive, warm, and incredibly knowledgeable. Overall, an amazing experience and absolutely worth the walk in the snow to get here. We cannot wait to return!

Just a fantastic dinner. On par with or even better than the 2 and 3-star Michilin places I've been in Chicago, but this is one I'm honestly more likely to return to.
