Can't beat it on a summer evening, especially with a big group. Outstanding beers and pretzels, what's not to

If you've been out and about for a few hours in Chicago, and you happen to be a long the River Walk, this is a perfect spot for a beer break. I think there were 20 something beers available on tap, as well as some cans and bottles. The beer list is well diversified with lagers, pilsners, belgians, saisons, porters, stouts, Ales, IPAs, and even some sours...something for everyone. Outdoor seating is ample, great for boat and people watching. Beer guys were friendly enough and patient. We didn't try any food as we weren't hungry, and it was rather cold outside, and I hate it when my hot food gets cold too quickly.

Visited here for a couple brews while in the city. Very nice staff and great beer recommendations.

Another great place along the Riverwalk. Very festive with Oktoberfest music playing good beer on tap and a yum yum pretzel! Definitely enjoys sitting and relaxing watching the people and listening to the music with good friends and conversation. I wouldn't hesitate a bit to return.

Food was OK, but their ciders were excellent. Had some the first day we were in Chicago, and found myself trying to make excuses to stop by on the second day. If you are a cider fan, would definitely recommend (and the view of the Riverwalk was worthy as well).

The Northman is such a great spot to hangout on the Riverwalk and it’s definitely a personal favorite of mine. Lots of different beers and ciders to chose from and some great food and snack options too. What’s unique about this spot is there’s so much space and seating that you don’t have to wait like many of the other Riverwalk spots. They also have live music often and special events like Oktoberfest where they have special selections and games to play. You go up to the counter to get drinks and order food which is actually nice because you don’t have to wait a long time for a server to come back, which is one of the main problems of other Riverwalk spots because they never have enough servers. Here you get your drinks when you want them and the food is delivered to your seat quickly. They are dog friendly, even putting out water bowls and giving treats to pets. Pictured is the Chicago Dog, a Vegan Kielbasa, soft serve, Pub Pretzel, and some ciders - all tasty! This is definitely a great choice to relax at on the river.

Great atmosphere. We had the Chicago hotdog, very good! Good selection of beers. Was nice to sit along the water watching the boats.

Picturesque beer garden situated on the Chicago River Walk...Plenty of tables with spaces for groups or individuals...the beer and hard ciders were good with some unique selections...the Chicago Hot Dog and the Chicken Brat had some tasty condiments. I would go back again.

On the Chicago Riverwalk, a great outdoor beer garden to eat very good Chicago Dogs and Bavarian pretzels while drinking great beer. Picnic table service right on the water. Great setting and relaxing place to have food, beer and enjoy the river.

A really cool place by the river walk to sit down, relax and have a drink. This is right in the busy stretch of the river walk, pretty packed when we got there on a Saturday evening. We were lucky to find an open table and we grabbed it quickly. We were impressed with the quickness of service although the place was real busy. The tater tots and pretzels we ordered got to our table by the time we sat down & sipped our drink. The ladies at the counter, where we ordered our food and drink were quick and efficient as well. They have a decent selection of beer and cider, including draft options. The views from this spot (as most along the river walk) is spectacular. You are literally a few feet away from the water and besides talking in the great views of the river, the surroundings structures and architecture etc., you can catch a lot of activities happening, especially on a busy weekend evening. It was great to wind down here after a long and busy day.Vegetarian options: A few vegetarian options were on the menu.

Upon dining at this location, I made a bet with the owner that if the Chicago-Dog he made for me was better than the one I got at Wrigley for the Cubs game that night, then I would come here and give him a 5 star review. (You know who you are)Well, here I am. The hotdog he made for me here at the Riverwalk was 100% a genuine Chicago-style hotdog with all the fixings, and was absolutely better than the one at Wrigley.Thank you for the great food sir.HIGHLY recommended.

Beautiful right alongside the river. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. I only had a bottled root beer to drink, which was fine. The Chicago dog had all the standard toppings, but the bun was a little stale and the hot dog wasn’t the best. The beer cheese and mustard that came with the pretzel were incredible, but the pretzel was alright. There was some ok live music in the background.

Was disappointed in my hotdog ?. Definitely tasted like a typical Oscar Meyer, wiener. Was told by a local to get one from a street cart if wanting a true Chicago hotdog .
