Best hidden gem for Mediterranean food in the Loop! The food is great & so are the prices. Seating can be tricky during the lunch rush.

Highly recommend the chicken shawarma plate with hummus, rice, and hot sauce. I love the feel of this place when walking into a jewelry store to finding Oasis Cafe!

Oasis Cafe is one of those places that never disappoints. The food is simple, fresh, and full of flavor, and you can really tell it’s made with care. I tried the falafel and hummus combo, and everything tasted spot-on — crispy falafel, creamy hummus, and perfectly seasoned sides. Portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable for downtown Chicago.
The service is quick and friendly, which makes it a great lunch spot even when you’re short on time. The location itself is kind of unique, tucked inside a building, but once you find it, it’s totally worth it. The vibe is relaxed and no-frills — you go there for good food, not fancy decor.
If you’re looking for authentic Mediterranean food, especially vegetarian-friendly options, Oasis Cafe is a must-try. I’d happily come back again and again. 👍

Excellent hidden gem for mediterranean food in the loop, my new favorite lunch spot. Quality, fresh food for less than what most other spots charge for less healthy junk

I had been going here for lunch regularly for a lot of years, but now only occasionally since I retired. The food today is still very good and reasonably priced. I always get the vegetarian plate with falafel, baba ganous, grape leaves and hummus. I get this plate because each item is great. If you are downtown, go to Oasis. It will become a regular place to go for you too.

The BEST falafel! I’m obsessed. And the prices are unbeatable—a falafel sandwich + hot sauce for under $10? In this economy? Sign me up!

If i could give it 6 stars out of 5 i would.
I went for (late) lunch, almost 4pm, and got the fattoush and the combo mixed platter. Both were absolutely delicious.
The hummus was super fresh, and everything tasted like it is truly supposed to taste.
The food was ready fast, and the portions were giant (had to take a bunch of leftovers home, and I am so looking forward to eat them later)
I would totally come back to this place, without a doubt
PD: the photos are kinda trash but i was starving so i only remembered to take pictures once i was halfway through the meal lol

Cairo Oasis on Wabash Avenue in Chicago offers a solid four-star escape into Egyptian and Middle Eastern cuisine, where the aromatic shawarma platters wrap tender, spiced lamb in fluffy pita with fresh tahini and pickled veggies that burst with authentic flavors, while the creamy baba ghanoush and crispy falafel provide a smoky, satisfying start to any meal. The vibrant, hookah-infused lounge atmosphere pulses with cultural charm and lively music, making it a fun spot for groups, though the dim lighting and occasional wait times during busy evenings can feel a bit chaotic. The attentive staff shine with recommendations and warm hospitality, delivering generous portions at fair prices that make it a reliable choice for flavorful bites, even if the menu could use more innovative vegetarian twists to elevate it further. Overall, it’s a welcoming haven for those craving a taste of the Nile in the heart of the city, blending tradition with urban vibe for a memorable, if not flawless, dining experience.
