Cairo Oasis on Wabash Avenue in Chicago offers a solid four-star escape into Egyptian and Middle Eastern cuisine, where the aromatic shawarma platters wrap tender, spiced lamb in fluffy pita with fresh tahini and pickled veggies that burst with authentic flavors, while the creamy baba ghanoush and crispy falafel provide a smoky, satisfying start to any meal. The vibrant, hookah-infused lounge atmosphere pulses with cultural charm and lively music, making it a fun spot for groups, though the dim lighting and occasional wait times during busy evenings can feel a bit chaotic. The attentive staff shine with recommendations and warm hospitality, delivering generous portions at fair prices that make it a reliable choice for flavorful bites, even if the menu could use more innovative vegetarian twists to elevate it further. Overall, it’s a welcoming haven for those craving a taste of the Nile in the heart of the city, blending tradition with urban vibe for a memorable, if not flawless, dining experience.
Best Falafels in the city.

This was place was really good! I got the daily special which was Moroccan Chicken, and a chicken shawarma wrap. Both were really filling and satisfying, but I'd say the Moroccan Chicken was sort of bland. The shawarma was quite tasty and really hit the spot. This place is in the back of a jewellery store which is interesting. We went during the lunch hour rush that had a long line and we didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes in line to get our food and be eating. Great halal option in the center of the city.

This spot is inside the downtown of Chicago. It is a restaurant that is inside a jewelry store. You walk to the very back of it to get to the restaurant. There are a good amount of seats here and the place is one of those hidden spots you can sit down and eat at since you will not find many people sitting down to eat (at least from my experience).
The food on the other hand is incredible. I am a meat lover, and the cooks know how to season the food well. The added sauce is the icing on the cake. The wait time for food is not too bad. You can expect your order to come in a timely manner. I will say, Oasis Cafe is one of those restaurants that is not open the whole day so- catch them as early as possible.
Last thing. If you do sit down and eat here- expect to hear a lot of wheels grinding against rails because this food place is in front of a metro train track.

Went here as a tourist and it was not hard to find at all. The food was fantastic and there is plenty of seating inside. I will definitely come back here next time I'm in Chicago!

literally so good i cant stop eating here. i have never ever written a review or even thought of leaving a review about any resturant but this food is so so so freaking good i need to let yall know. some days are awesome, and some days are freaking amazing awesome. like some days its good and some days its even better. i neeeed that shawarma sandwich like i think about it every single day of my life it just fuffills something deep and primal, the juices, the meat, the other things. i love it. and the other menu items like the kefta plate and the moroccan chicken are amazing , not to mention the lentil soup and the baklava. seriously im going bankrupt buying sandwiches from here, even though the prices are reasonable. sure it used to be cheaper, but getting lunch for 11 dollars in the loop isnt bad and its especially a good deal for how fresh the food is. the staff is sweet and quick to remember you, ALSO it takes literally thirty seconds for them to make your food, its always hot ready and fresh. they are shawarma wizards i SWEAR TO GODDDD. love yall hope u see this.

I found this place by accident and let me tell you, I'm amazed! Restaurant is located in jewelers district, on the end of the store. Food is delicious and fresh, cooks work super fast and everybody is always very kind. You can tell this place is awesome by the amount of people dining there. Every time I visit for my lunch there is always people dining in, sometimes you can not ven find available table. I definitely recommend to try their food. My favorite is combo plate with chicken shawarma. Falafel is always so fresh and crispy!
