Every dish we ordered was cooked with love and care - and smelled absolutely amazing. Our waiter told us he has worked at Oggi for 35 years! This is some of the best Italian food you will find in Chicago. Perfect for a romantic night out or dinner with friends and family. It is an unpretentious, neighborhood gem. Highly, highly recommend. Oggi is an absolute delight. It is family run and the love the owners have shines through. The pastas and pizzas are delicious and generously proportioned - linguine pescatore, baked gnocchi, and lasagna are my favorite. Don't pass up on the appetizers either - the sausage and peppers and baked clams are incredible. It's hard to find traditional "red sauce" old school Italian places these days and Oggi nails it. But best of all are Sam and Luz and Isaac and the whole family are amazing hosts and provide a warm and delightful environment.

The cocktails were amazing, pistachio martini in particular was so good. Lasagna was great as well as the grilled calamari. Met the family who runs the small business as well, great vibe and friendly atmosphere.

The food was good, but ordering felt like a guessing game since the menu had almost no descriptions or allergen information. The rolls, which I think were milk buns, were delicious, though they aren’t something you’d typically pair with the provided oil and parmesan, so that felt a bit weird.
The overall vibe was also just off. There’s almost no decor, the window tint is peeling in places, and the staff uniforms of jeans and Chicago flag t-shirts didn’t match the nice Italian feel they seemed to be going for, especially considering the price point of some dishes. It came across as a mix of ideas without a clear vision tying everything together and without the attention to detail a restaurant demands.
If they put more attention into the interior, menu design, and overall FOH presentation, this could be a great spot. The service was fine, but the team seemed short-staffed and were clearly hustling so I’m not docking them any points in that.
Again, fairly good food, just missing the warmth and consistency that make a restaurant feel cozy and well put together. This is ultimately a good takeout spot, but not someplace to go when you want a great dining experience.

Went to pick up dinner last night, $24 for penne vodka was not the problem. It had no meat unless you wanted to add $4 (there was some cheap salami), no flavor, the penne was overcooked. Like I actually became sick after eating it and threw up. Threw the rest away. I rarely leave bad reviews but I had to this time wow. Not worth the price, place was cute though and servers were very nice.

Comfortable attractive evening ambiance with efficient and kind waitstaff. Dinner rolls were excellent. Gnocchi were very flavorful with sweet and well spiced sauce. Pastas were good. Vodka sauce was bland. Pizza received good reviews from one and disappointing reviews from younger diner.
