I work around the corner from O’Leary’s. We come over after work quite a bit so I can give it three stars in some categories but I was surprised when we tried to stop by today when the Bears were playing Green Bay and a man at the front door slammed it shut when we tried to walk in saying they were “at capacity”. Like, he was sitting on a stool in front of the door and physically grabbed the handle and pulled it violently shut from the other side. What he actually meant was they weren’t at capacity but someone in our party was wearing a Bears shirt…that’s when we noticed they had signs all over the front with windows that read “Green Bay fans only others need not apply”. He locked the door (which feels like it’s against fire code after that) and ignored us even as we tried to say “Go Pack”. It’s weird to have a place in Chicago, named after one of Chicago’s iconic events that don’t want Chicagoans to come. Maybe you’re trying to create a safe place for Wisconsin fans, but this is a friendly rivalry and some of the best games I’ve watched are with our northern neighbors. Someone in our party said “they don’t want our money”. We went to a place a block away and sure enough, when we walked back past O’Leary’s to our car after the game, the signs were down, so only then were Chicagoans welcome again. So…if you love Chicago and you want to patronize places that love Chicago, this isn’t the place. They want our money. They’ll take our money. But maybe they don’t deserve our money.

Not welcome / no admittance if you are not a Packers fan. I guess my money is no good here. I was not wearing green or any football fan attire, and was told “we’re full”, inside it appeared nowhere near “full”. I’ve already been denied, and the guy at the door really wants to drive the message home, and then asked if we are Packers fans. Thinking to myself how Lambeau Field is 200 + miles away, i reply “no” in so many words. He points down the street and says yeah, down there. We gladly checked out Fado Irish Pub up the road (not the direction suggested to us by the door man), and were granted entry, as one would expect when a business is open.
Please just stop serving guinness, its the worst ive ever seen anywhere in the world. Don't wipe the head off with a napkin my god

I was in Chicago for 2 days and this is the by far the best bar in Chicago. The owner is a Washington Commanders fan and he makes sure the Commanders win if you come here. The bartender is awesome because she sings Ke$ha and Burger King commercials during the commercial breaks to keep the vibe going. They let some Eagles fans inside, but that's OK.

We started going to this bar back in 2021, it was so fun and a welcome outdoor area with great Covid safe protocols and decently priced beers! Once the world started opening back up and we could enjoy a beverage indoors, we were frequent customers and loved the bartenders/door guys! Unfortunately in the past couple of years, the draft beer tastes awful. I wonder when they last cleaned the tap lines. We haven’t been frequenting the place in the past few years for that reason, today we thought it would be fun to stop in for a bottled beer and watch a football game from the outside patio area, but the bouncer was very unclear when explaining that the entire bar was reserved for a private party, and kinda rude tbh. We asked if we could grab a beer and sit outside and he said “that’s reserved for a private party” so I said “oh cool ok can we grab a beer at the bar inside instead?” And he said “find another bar and ask them, I don’t care.” Whatever, we won’t be back because the food isn’t good and neither are the draft beers so I recommend not even stopping in.

The “owner” Jim was a rude and verbally abusive person. There were no other customers and he told us to leave because we didn’t want to sit at a different table. He shouted for us to leave or he’d call the police. He almost hit my friend. Because of the table choice? Will never go back. We hadn’t ordered even a drink.
Restaurantji Recommends
This is the best place in Chi for a hang and good people. Never the less this poor bloke had to deal with sending my computer back to me I left there , and was super helpful. There’s not a lot of places like this in Chicago highly Recommend . Don’t miss out checking it out .
