I made reservations for Saturday, July 19th, but upon arriving and noticing the bar wasn't busy, I opted to sit in the back corner. It was my first time at the restaurant, and the space looked beautiful. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the ambiance. I sat for several minutes before anyone acknowledged me. Someone eventually handed me a brunch menu—which surprised me since I came for dinner. I had to request both the regular food and cocktail menus from the male bartender. I ordered the fried calamari and vegetables, which were quite good—tender calamari and lightly battered vegetables. After finishing, Amelia asked if I wanted another drink. I told her I was ready to order dinner. Frustratingly, no one had asked if I planned to dine—something typical at a bar. I ordered the Branzino based on her recommendation. The tomato sauce was flavorful, though the vegetables weren't hot. Still, no one checked on my meal or offered more silverware, which had been cleared with my appetizer. Thankfully, a tall, slim, dark-haired barback noticed and brought me a fresh set. He also asked how everything was—something none of the bartenders did. He later brought a to-go container and followed up with the dessert menu, showing far more attentiveness than the bartenders, who didn't seem busy—just disengaged. After my meal, I waited for someone to bring the check. With a to-go bag in front of me, I sat at the bar for several minutes without a single bartender stopping by. Again, the barback stepped in and brought it. The food and ambiance were great, but the bartenders' service was lacking. The barback truly saved the evening—he was the star of the night. Sadly, the overall experience makes me hesitant to return.
We booked a late reservation to celebrate an anniversary (we had tickets to an event beforehand). We were a few minutes late due to the event running over and by the time we arrived it was clear we were being rushed as they were eager to close up. I can understand this and don't really fault them for that. But honestly, the food was pretty awful and it just put a damper on our whole evening, which was meant to be a special celebration. We ordered the burrata which was fine but forgettable. But the pastas were where the meal really fell down. My partner ordered the fusilli with bolognese which was so under-seasoned and flavorless it was barely edible. I ordered the cacio e pepe which had better flavor, but the pasta was so overcooked it was just a mushy, wet mess. The bill coming in at over $100 (two overpriced NA cocktails, an underwhelming appetizer, and 2 objectively bad pastas) just added insult to injury. We won't be going back.
We had the charcuterie board, carbonara pasta and fungi ravioli. Charcuterie board was ok. Fungi pasta awesome. Carbonara was better in NYC (guanciale was shaved stille, I think that pieces works better). Great service! Tiramissu and espresso martini were delicious too.
This was the second time eating here. Food is good. Cacio e Pepe was very good. Service was mediocre. It took 20 minutes for the server to come to our table. No apology for the long wait to even be greeted and asked if we wanted drinks. And then had to flag down a manager to get a second drink. Originally we were seated next to the bar but because it was so noisy there I asked for a different table. They seated us near the back exit (to the hotel) which was quieter but perhaps that was the reason (not an excuse in my view) for the poor service. And it was still echoey and noisy there until after 7:30 when the bar emptied out a bit. It is a beautiful place with good food. Need to work on the service.
Food is great, unique menu Service was SLOW but they were attentive when they showed up. Loud room
Everything was just OK. Nothing made me want to come back, including my extremely rare steak and the lackluster service with a pre populated request for 22% gratuity. I was also disappointed to see what looked to be a manager stuck behind a computer when the hostess was getting slammed at 7PM, basically appear to walk over, see the struggle, and go back to hiding behind the bar. It sucks when you get slammed, but that shouldn't result in lowering your expectations and food quality.
Amazing time at Olio. Food was delicious and service was fast! Thank you to Amelia and Jason.
Service was slow to start and we had to ask for a high chair twice before one was brought to the table. After we finished dinner we realized that we never received the table bread service. The food came quickly once we ordered and was tasty without being too salty. However again service was slow to get our check. In all the food was good quality but service lackluster.
Wonderful food. Great service. We were seated on a louder side of the restaurant. But it was still a nice experience. We weren't rushed by the staff.
This was my first time at Olie e Piu and I was overall pleased with the experience. The food was good, the ambiance was cute, and the staff was nice; however, the service was just okay. It took a while for our server to initially greet us, to check on us after the food was delivered and we weren't asked about more drinks. Also, the espresso at the end of our meal wasn't great.

One of the best Espresso Martinis I've ever had! And only $10 on happy hour! Which is EVERY day!!!
Great service and yummy food. We had the prix fixed lunch menu and it was plenty of food and delicious! Sat in the patio. Price point is a bit high.
