We had a lovely time at Oliver's The service was excellent, the food and drinks were delicious, and the ambiance is upscale yet warm and inviting. We will return and we will recommend Oliver's.
Oliver's is a hidden gem in South Loop - the lemon fish crudo was delicious and had a nice bite to it and the key lime pie with pistachio praline and graham cracker crust satisfied my sweet tooth.
Oliver's has my favorite burger in town and it's not even close. So good I'm debating going and just ordering two for myself nest time. All the other dishes are excellent too. Personally I thought the risotto was lacking in flavor but went well with the side of mushrooms we ordered separately. Cookies and milk was nostalgic and delicious. Golden hour cocktails tasty as well. Staff was an absolute pleasure; kind and attentive.
The fried chicken, not a regular menu item, is undoubtedly one of the best I've ever had! And I come from a family of southern, soul food cooks! I hope they bring that back with some regularity.
Details matter. And at Oliver's this value is fully on display. We ended up getting two different starters the vertical acres farms salad, and the toast royale. Splitting an entrée the Oliver's cheeseburger and a side of the fried eggplant. I feel like this goes without saying that the food at Oliver's is phenomenal. I think what really stood out to us during our experience, was the hospitality on display from the moment that we walked in and throughout our meal. I don't find it often that a coat check is a standard thing at most restaurants within a specific price range and or neighborhood. I might be off base saying this, but this is just one small example of how the team at Oliver's really pays attention to the details. Another thing to note was with some of the dishes that we didn't finish, they not only boxed up leftovers, but also provided a ticket much like the coat check, to then pick those leftover up at the end of service to take with us. Little things like replacing serveware in-between courses was also a nice little touch. Speaking of service, our server as well as other staff who were integral to our experience were nothing but kind and warm without it feeling fake. I don't want to forget either that we came in to celebrate my birthday! Receiving a card with notes from the team was a really beautiful touchpoint! Oliver's truly is a gem, with amazing food, impeccable hospitality, and truly a place that cares about the details.
The TOAST ROYALE IS TO DIE FOR! Mistakenly got there an hour early but the hostess was kind about it. Waited about 45 minutes at the bar for our table. Which kinda sucked because there were a ton of tables available. The food was amazing. My bf said the burger was a bit small for the price but agreed that we'd be back because the food was amazing. The servers were kind, though he seemed a bit frazzled or busy. Spent about an hour and a half there in total. Food came out fast and service was prompt. Will definitely be back <3
Every dish on the menu is incredible! Amazing service and cocktails as well. We always love our whole experience here!
Fantastic! This is a true Chicago gem. My brother and husband were very impressed. I totally think this place is on track for Michelin stardom.
We had such a lovely meal. Our server (Larry?) was awesome and engaging. Our host was attentive and sweet. The food an cocktails were delicious and beautiful. Ramos gin fizz, Dirty Daquiri, TOAST ROYALE (OMFG), Charred octopus, Koginut squash, and perhaps the BEST half chicken I've ever had. We will be back!
Such a great experience! We were a bit worried when we were told we had to order everything upfront (aside from drinks & desserts) and they would pace out the courses. Typically, this means they rush your food to flip the table. So we pleased that this wasn't the case at all. The courses weren't rushed, and we had time to enjoy the food and finish the course before more food arrived. We started with lemonfish crudo which was AMAZING! We then got the scallops, steak frites and mushrooms. The scallops were good, but only three were included and they were quite small for the price and not enough to share. The steak & mushrooms were fantastic and quite a large portion. For dessert we got the profiterole and the milk & cookies. Great food & great service. We live in the area and there aren't many nicer restaurants in the South Loop, so we will be back for sure!

I have been here plenty of times, was inexplicably kicked out of this time tonight after a prepaid event? And not replaced? I don't know what is going on?
If I could rate it a 100 I would jn a heartbeat! Food, service, and overall ambiance has made this place my #1 thus far. So much so that I already made 2 more reservations lol
We had dinner before the Bears/Packers game. The drinks were fantastic and the burger was perfect. A hidden gem!

Warm intimate restaurant with friendly staff. Terrific dishes, from starters to dessert. Delicious cocktails created and professionally served by Max, who was fabulous!
