Great Omakase location for Chicago. Pricing is reasonable compared to other places. the small seating and atmosphere is nice too. will go again.

the food was soso. but the waiter gave me a really bad expletive , come up and ask me for more tips because he request for a least 20% of the tips ? When you have a bad attitude and not in the good way for the whole services , running my whole day . Thank you for that :)

The meal consisted of about 15 pieces of nigiri. I would say that five of them were dressed well and tasty. The others were more standard presentations. The uni was not a high grade and was a bit metallic and minerally to the taste. Also the sequencing seemed a little odd with the sweeter unagi presented in the middle when it is usually more of a transition towards the end. Meal was done in under an hour so it felt a bit rushed.

Quality of fish was not fresh or good enough to be charging $100 per person. Underwhelming experience. Situated in the basement floor of takeya ramen with 6 seats.

Served in Edomae style. The flavours of sushi rice and rice ratio did not complement the fish at all. It was a little odd that the server was telling us what the fish were and almost no interaction from the sushi chef at all. Overall it's ok despite service feeling very rushed, but not for the price point they charge.

Both my girlfriend and I had food poisoning after eating their Omakase. Will report them to the department of public health. Avoid them at all costs!

You are looking for traditional Japanese Sushi, prepared by Sasaki San in an environment that makes you feel like you are in Japan, Arturo and Sasaki San are attentive to your every movement and attend to your every need, the prices are quite reasonable and the fish is of very high quality, no Do not hesitate to accompany your sushi with a good Japanese whiskey or hot sake, it is undoubtedly an excellent choice in Chicago.

Do not go to this place. One of the most disorganized restaurants I’ve ever experienced. A total trash experience. If your life depended on it I would still take my chances and eat somewhere else.

Can’t be it’s price point here, definitely worth every dollar to get your fill of variety of fresh fish. Would definitely recommend.

I came here a year ago for my two year anniversary with my bf and I AM SO SAD TO SEE THIS IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED!!! This omakase experience was so memorable- the chef was the cutest elderly man and each piece of fish was so tasty. I’ve been a few omakase places in New York and Japan and this one definitely lives up to the standard. Will be coming back when they reopen

I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews but my family and I had a great experience. Omakase translates to "dishes selected by the chef," so there are no reasons for people to leave negative reviews about the nigiri selections. Everything tasted very fresh and delicious. The dinner seating lasts for 75 minutes, we got through the 15 courses in about 50 minutes. Afterwards, they allowed extra time for customers to re-order any of the pieces that were served. I did not feel rushed at any moment, in fact, the waiter encouraged us to stay and enjoy until the whole 75 minutes were up. The only complaint I have are the chairs, they are due to get new chairs as the seats were slightly uncomfortable.

DO NOT RESERVE here. If you must, read and reread carefully. Made a reservation for 3 for my son's birthday dinner, and I accidently entered the wrong date. Realized this ten seconds after I hit confirm. I tried emailing and calling the restaurant to cancel the reservation, and got no response. Yet somehow they managed to respond when I disputed the charge with Visa. Don't even bother with this place, plenty of good sushi places in Chicago that don't feel the need to swindle people.

The server wasn’t kind even sometimes rude. He explained about each sushi to the other teams but somehow he always forgot to do that to us. The attitude to us was not good from the beginning to the end, for example, he almost threw the receipt to our table while he politely put the receipt to the other table. It was subtle racism for whole 50 min. It wasnt just me to feel it, all of my family felt it. I really liked to visit here two years ago and very very dissapointed this time and never visit anymore. Even the quality of sushi was downgraded compared to two years ago.

Relaxed vibe, great sushi, and good service, all at a air price. I was very full by the end of 15 courses and an entire pot of green tea! I confidently give it five stars. That being said, I think the restaurant could benefit from an adjustment to their marketing. We booked it thinking it would be mid-level omakase experience - so, not quite quadruple dollar sign good, but close enough. In reality, besides accommodating only six diners at a time, it very much resembles the experience of 4 am omakase at Tsukiji Market after doing the tuna auction. It's chaotic even getting to sit down, because the waiting area is literally one bench off the main kitchen that's exposed to all the noise of the ramen restaurant. The pacing is quite fast. The service is fine, not exceptional. Finally, the chef is a little aloof and hyper-focused on feeding you quickly so that the the next group of diners can be welcomed in.In short, it's marketed as an exclusive experience, when it's actually just very good, fresh fish served in the basement by this dude. If you go into it with that expectation in mind, you will really enjoy yourself.

Omakase was pretty good but like everyone else says, this was the most rushed experience ever. It was like a race to see how fast they could try to feed us. An advertised 75 minute seating, we were seated 10 minutes late, and done within 40 minutes -- AND told it was "last call" around that same time, and told the place was closing. This place needs to reconsider their operation.
