“Woah!” -our entire family after our first bite from Omarcito’s. We ordered quite a bit of food and literally everything was delicious. Amazing atmosphere and great for kids too. Agua Frescas were so refreshing, the pork sandwich was so juicy and flavorful and do not sleep on the catfish! Get here while there’s still some nice weather left in Chicago.

I very happy and friendly host but the 2hr wait for 2 plated at a damn near 100 bucks was not worth it. And all I wanted was rice and beans all that I got was to rise smh

Amazing customer service - initially got the wrong order which is bound to happen once or twice during a weekend lunch rush, but they let us keep that food and had the correct order out to us in less than two minutes. They were so courteous, I’m so grateful! Also the food was amazing so win win win.

Unfortunately I was really looking forward to trying this place the atmosphere is really nice and love how in the cut it is I wanted to try this place I came all the way from the West Loop spent $27 on a uber after work to get there, arriving about 20 minutes before closing. While waiting with my headphones in, I caught the tail end of an announcement about not taking any more orders. Since I wasn’t sure what was said, I politely asked if I could at least purchase a beverage one of there agua frescas. Instead of a simple clarification, I was met with a snippy response: “I’m not taking any more orders, my voice should be good enough, and you should respect that.” It felt unnecessarily rude, especially when another customer chimed in against me and the employee essentially co-signed their comments. The whole interaction came across as an attempt to embarrass me, which left a very bad taste in my mouth. I’ve never seen a business refuse service before their posted closing time, and the lack of professionalism was disappointing. I’m hesitant to give this place another chance if I do make the trip again and it turns out to be the same, it’ll be a complete waste of time.

FINALLY… stopped in this afternoon for lunch with the familia… food was beyond delish and according to my two littles (4years old) the food was 10/10 and “bussin” (he’s a picky eater) and my (21month old) kept saying “mmmm” “yummmy” she rarely says that when eating! Met Omar, what a super down to earth guy… loved how he acknowledged our kiddos too and not just the adults! When I saw the Aqua de Melon I KNEW I was in the right place! I have been craving that all summer long… when I ordered… the cashier asked if I wanted melon alone or with limon… I of course took melon con limon and when I say it was FIRE.. I DEF MEAN IT!!! It was the first thing gone! lol couldn’t even take a pic of it full! Family couldn’t stop drinking it!! We can stilll taste the flavor!! Going back for more flavors and of course food!!!
Omar… appreciate you and your staff and the FRESH.. MADE TO ORDER FOOD!!!! We will be back a lot more!! We are a few blocks down!!!

The place is casual but electric! The vibe is from the owner Omar and his right hand Lena. They are a force. But the real star is the food. I had the pork jibaito and yellow rice. The pork was soft and the plantain had just the right crunch. Omer recommended the fish, but I wanted to see how something I knew stacked up. If I could eat another one it would be fish. Next time. Go!!!!
I don't even know where to start. Been here twice now and I think it's safe to say this is my favorite restaurant of all time. Last time I was here I brought my girlfriend, who was visiting from out of town. She was a bit skeptical about traveling an hour away just for lunch, but safe to say she wasn't disappointed. Omar is literally one of the nicest dudes I've ever met, and somehow knowing how much he loves and cares about the restaurant and his customers makes the 5 star food even better than it already is. He is also absolutely hilarious. He was so genuinely happy that we traveled so far just for his food that he even gave us free desert. Thanks Omar, I'll be back soon!
