Delicious sandwiches full of flavor. Takeout orders include hot sauce and garlic sauce. The owner makes you feel special.
It’s like coming to eat at your fav cousins. The vibes are real, the food is delicious and the coffee was so creamy and hot— perfect ratio of espresso/milk. I had the jibarito de ropa vieja w/cheese — I have no words— yall just gotta try it for yourselves.

Omarcito is truly a standout spot. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive, which immediately set the tone for a great experience. The food was nothing short of incredible. The ropa vieja was the highlight, it was tender, perfectly seasoned, and packed with rich, comforting flavor that tasted like it had been slow-cooked with real care. The empanadas were equally amazing: crispy on the outside, flavorful and satisfying on the inside, and clearly made fresh. Every bite felt thoughtful and authentic. Between the outstanding food and the genuinely warm service, Omarcito is a place you want to come back to again and again. Highly recommend.

Great neighborhood gem of a place.
This place was on our list for a while, and oh it did not disappoint.
From the food to the amazing service you get at the walk up window.
Little places like this are what make neighborhoods shine.
The owner was at the window taking the orders, he has a very inviting personality and contagious smile. It was cold outside, but the cafe con leche and the smile makes you feel warm, cozy and welcomed.
It’s a little out of the way for me but, I’ll probably try and make out there once a month.
We had two Jibarito sandwiches.
One was the chicken jibarito and the other was the pork Jibarito.
Portion sizes are generous.
Both sandwiches were very flavorful, they even seasoned the plantain part of the sandwich.
We had a side of rice and a side of beef also very generous portions.
Ropa vieja empanada was amazing.
Crunchy exterior and hot and flavorful on the inside.
In my opinion it’s places like this, that give Chicago bragging rights when it comes to its food scene.

So glad I found this place. Omarcito’s is as real as it gets. Omar is so passionate and his recipie are absolutely delicious.
Stopped in on a Sunday with a friend for coffee and a quick bite. Omar was so personable and took the time to explain the menu and told me to order whatever sounded good to me. I got a coffee with coconut that was delicious and the perfect amount of sweetness as well as one of the specials.
The special was flautas in a salsa verde broth that was incredible. He used chickpeas instead of hominy and the crunch on the flautas was insane. I usually don’t like sour cream but Omar insisted to trust his recipe and he was absolutely correct.
Highly recommend stopping in and ordering something off the menu exactly as is, he really knows his flavors and how to make a tasty dish.
