Absolutely not!!!! If you’ve ever been anywhere do not eat here. Ordered penna a la vodka, jalapeno gnocchi and ravioli. My god… all of it was HORRRIDD!! The penne sauce was watery (literally dripping off the fork), gnocchi you could taste the water and the jalapeño flavor was artificial. We also ordered wine that we didn’t finish because it, too was terrible (although a heavy pour). I am assuming the raving reviewers have never been to Italy let alone an authentic Chicago Italian restaurant or even a local fast food eatery. there’s no way!!! For the first time in my life I have had the nastiest food from a restaurant ever. This is historic for me. Not to mention our waiter had the worst attitude. On the plus side for 3 entrees a salad and two glasses of wine the total was only $106. Other than the few positives the place is a forever no. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!!! If I could direct Gordon Ramsey to any restaurant, for some direction, it would be this one.

Ps I wrote this review AT THE table because it’s that dissatisfying. How is this place even still open with all these great reviews (the reason we came in the first place)?? I’m honestly floored.

I love Orso's. I've dined in 3 times (ambiance and service are incredible!) and today placed an order for takeout. In passing I mentioned I didn't have a great day and was looking forward to some comfort food (their DELICIOUS vodka pasta!) and they went out of their way to write me a handwritten note, AND a complimentary tiramisu. It's the little things that go a long way. Thank you, Orso's! Bring your loved ones here for a great dinner.

Always enjoy times at Orso's. The staff are all excellent. Each time I visit it's great. The only reason I didn't give it five stars..it is extremely loud. We were celebrating an anniversary. Tables are close to each other. Not sure why people talk so loudly when sitting next to the people in their party. Maybe Orso's can space the tables a little. It's pretty tight and feels crowded. Overall highly recommend Orso's

Just okay American Italian food. The portions are large but basic. The cocktails and services were good.

Review for Orso’s on Wells Street

Alright, let’s get down to business. My neighbors and I have recently turned dinner into a weekly tradition, and Wednesday nights? They belong to Orso’s. Why? Because Orso’s delivers more than just food—it creates moments that feel purposeful. And let me tell you, their Wednesday night pizza deal is unbeatable: buy one pizza, get one free when dining in. For takeout (or maybe delivery, though I’m not 100% sure), it’s buy one, get the second half-off. But honestly, you want to sit down, soak up the atmosphere, and savor the full Orso’s experience.

Before we dive into the pizza, let’s talk salad. With five of us at the table, we’ve learned the hard way that a proper family-sized salad isn’t on the menu. It’s a missed opportunity, really—big, shareable bowls of iceberg lettuce and veggies are an easy win. Think Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder’s salad: simple, satisfying, and enough to feed the whole table. Orso’s could take a note here. But even without it, Orso’s has a secret weapon: Orlando. Our waiter isn’t just a server; he’s a miracle worker. Somehow, he brings out a salad that’s perfect for all of us to share, making it seem effortless and special at the same time.

The pizza? Absolute perfection. Crisp, golden crusts, gooey cheese, and toppings that are so fresh they might as well be singing. But here’s the thing: Orso’s isn’t just about pizza. When Wednesday nights aren’t in play, we’ve created family-style Italian feasts that are nothing short of spectacular. The ravioli? Like soft little pillows of joy. The lasagna? A warm, comforting hug on a plate. The calamari? Crispy, tender, and completely irresistible.

What makes Orso’s special isn’t just the food, though—it’s the way they make you feel. It’s a place where connections happen, where laughter fills the air, and where every meal becomes an opportunity to pause, savor, and celebrate life’s little blessings.

So, gratitude to God and to those at Orso’s who make every visit feel like a gift. If you’re looking for a spot to make memories and enjoy incredible food, Orso’s is it. Come for the pizza, stay for the family-style dinners, and leave with a full belly and a full heart. And if Orlando is your server, consider yourself lucky—he’ll make sure your visit is nothing short of extraordinary.

The food was good, vibe was chill. The wine wasn’t my favorite (Cabernet) and the meatballs were dry.

The linguine with clams was bursting with flavor! Calamari was great too!

I had a wonderful experience at Orso's. I booked a reservation for a birthday dinner, and the service was fantastic. The food was delicious as well. They brought me a mini cake and sang for me. I would highly recommend!

Food was absolutely horrible. I ordered the jalapeño gnocchi and it tasted like instant mashed potatoes. Everyone else thought their food was awful. Waiter barely came around. Will never be returning again

I stopped by for the weekend brunch. The food quality was poor. Maybe the main chef wasn't there. In the en, the card machine didn't work, so we had to wait more than 20 minutes.
