Immigration continues to benefit this country in so many ways, even foods we consider US staples are being perfected by communities of new Chicagoans bringing their unique skills from abroad. Before we had paleterias in Chicago we were limited to a few boring flavors in chains like Baskin Robbins. Great food and snacks! ? ? Next time me and the family have a beach day we're definitely stopping by again. Most definitely to get a torta de "pierna" I think they called it, soooo good, almost like a torta de tinga ? Highly recommend!!
This cute little neighborhood palateria has the best Mexican ice cream and sweets!! Their coconut paletas de leche are the closest thing I've ever tasted to those old candies called Pink Ladies that Fannie May Candies used to make. Pure deliciousness for when you've got that craving for coconut that nothing else will satisfy. They have tons of amazing flavors for their paletas de leche and their ice cream.
