Papi’s/Bacci’s were both a lifesaver when we first moved into our house just down the street. We would work on the house during the day and then just walk over to Papi’s in the evening for some quick, affordable home cooked food. This is not a fancy spot, but, if you’ve ever been to Mexico or Central America, you’ll realize it’s another humble local family style cafeteria, and refraining from fancy remodeling helps keep food costs affordable for the neighborhood. I’ve been to Su Taqueria El Rey on Ogden and Adams many many times, when my husband and I lived across the street, and it’s good. Every restaurant has their strong points. I appreciate Papi’s for the value and affordability they provide the locals.

Honestly, it's not all bad. Just a bunch of things that add up. I ordered a taco dinner, which was three tacos and a side of beans and rice. Taco-wise, had the steak (carne asada), barbacoa, and pork (al pastor). These are LARGE tacos - I think they were corn tortillas. Packed to the brim with lettuce and pico de gallo. They don't skimp on the meat either. The asada and al pastor tasted good. Not the best I've ever had, but it was enough to make you raise both eyebrows, pull the corners of your mouth down, and say "not bad... for the price". The meat in the barbacoa was flavorless. Didn't finish that one. Beans (refried with a drizzle of cheese on top) and rice were nothing to write home about. The wait for the food was not as long as I expected - I looked through some of other Yelp reviews while I was waiting. Took about 15-20 minutes - longer than most places, but borderline acceptable/unacceptable in my books for a taqueria without a line. Workers were all business when taking my order, which I felt was a good quality. Kitchen behind the counter looked like a mess - I personally have no problems with hole-in-the-walls (some of the best food in town comes from such places), but some might. Overall, would rate this as a high 2... which is unfortunate, because my review policy is to always round down. If you're living close by, would give this place a try and see if you enjoy it. Otherwise, wouldn't trek across town to sample this.

I've always liked the food. Unfortunately their delivery drivers will no longer get out of their vehicles. Makes it pointless to order delivery when you can't get it delivered.

WORST Mexican cuisine ever (Seriously)!!!!! You'll be better off traveling less than two miles to Ogden and Adams to get some WAY better Mexican food.

They came through with the correct order but everything I ordered was horrible (2 vege tacos 2 chicken tacos 2 quesadillas wasn't crispy and chicken nacho ) and all of that came up to be $29.28. I'm really disappointed and want my money back

I had steak tacos. The tacos had too much fat instead of meat

WORST SERVICE EVER. I ordered for a team of people and all of our orders were WRONG!!!! When I called to voice my concern the lady that took my order had a nasty attitude and simply "Ok, well I didn't hear it on my end so what do you want me to do about it" and I requested for the correct food to be delivered but she insisted in just giving a refund if the food is delivered. So I let the driver come for the food and I AM NEVER ORDERING FROM THEM AGAIN FOR THIS HORRIBLE SERVICE. PLUS I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT THE DRIVER DID NOT KNOW WHERE TO GO AND DID NOT EVEN GET OUT TO THE CAR.
