Typically we aren’t the biggest fans of chain bakeries because their food doesn’t taste too fresh or maybe just misses a bit of the TLC a local one has, this has even extended to other locations we’ve had of this exact chain. However, whatever is going on at this Paris Baguette has us rethinking that sentiment a bit. The space was clean and the workers moved quickly. There is a wide variety of things for you to get here and the self-serve process is very easy to navigate. We opened a sliding door to one of the cases and it fell off the hinge knocking a pastry off our plate so we hope they looked into and fixed that.

When we were done collecting a hedonistic amount of bites we headed over to order a coffee and sit down, all of which was speedy. Since we ordered so many pastries, we’ll give a quick breakdown of each one:

Pumpkin Scone - delicious with a firm bite, pumpkin flavor very welcoming
Pain au Chocolat - a chocolate croissant, buttery and light with some chocolate throughout (could use more chocolate)
Sugar Mochi Donut - simple but delicious, light and chewy. A very good sweet treat
Pastry Frank - a hot dog in croissant-like bread. A worse version of a kolache, the one item we would say to pass on
Grilled Cheese - delicious and well balanced, although the edges of the bread were a bit tough to work around
Hash Brown Bread with Ham & Cheese - by far the best thing we had on their menu. Savory, cheesy, and salty all in one item. We would highly recommend it to anyone
Iced Coffee - not the best, a lot of other chains do it a lot better but if you need the boost get it

Again, Paris Baguette is a chain so with that comes chain expectations, but these were some pretty good pastries, and if the food is good the food is good. If you’re looking for something quick or convenient then this is the spot for you, but if you’re looking for a more local feel in your bakery trips then look elsewhere.

They never pay attention to the online order instructions. I ordered a drink, no ice, oat milk, but they add big portions of ice and normal milk. The worse part is the lid is broken. I’ll never visit this location again.
Update: They left their email in the comments, but after I wrote to them, they never replied my email.

You’d think a place named Paris Baguette might serve something with a bit of balance, but their chai latte? More like corn syrup à la mode. The spices tried to show up, but they didn’t stand a chance. Bon appétit, I guess?

What a shame calling this place a “close to a French bakery” never eat so bad croissants or pastries in general. Waiting for more than 10 mnt for a coffee. Really bad service.

Pastries were so good. It's very difficult to decision to choose the pastries from the collection. Because everything was so good.

In terms of cleaning, it was not that good. Maybe its the one time thing. But it's worth to visit.

Put in an online order, process was easy, picked up with no problem. Didn’t have to get on line, and my order was ready sooner than expected. Evette packed the items nicely and was so nice to help me out with getting me set and our the door.

Worst place ever! There were flies inside the shelf around the food and they didn’t care!
All the croissants and danish had flies around it.

Great spot for coffee and fresh bakes, but service can be slow and staff sometimes distracted. Tables and trays often go uncleared, and essentials like tongs or paper run out, which affects the overall experience.

The SLOWEST PLACE in the world. Waited 30 minutes for a coffee. Are you kidding me?

Wonderful ambiance and, without a doubt, the best coconut mango cake slice I've ever tasted. Highly recommended.

Stopped in for a sandwich and a drink to go. Very nice displays of pastries. Was glad they had savory options and sandwiches as well. Food quality was very good. Service at the counter was fine. The coffee counter was a bit dirty and should have been wiped.

It was an average Paris Baguette, but I like the pastries that I tried and the iced latte that I had

First- I’ve tried more than 30 bakeries all over Chicago; this is absolutely the best one. Chicago definitely has a lot of beautiful baked goods, but it’s rare to find one that tastes as good as it looks. Paris Baguette’s croissant base is so addictive; truly flawless. You can taste that they use high quality butter, and that they don’t cheap out at all on their ingredients. Because of this, the pepperoni pizza is also my favorite pizza in town; i’ve been looking for a slightly sweet sauce with good mozzarella, cup pepperoni, and real oregano for years- who knew I’d find it at a bakery?

Having the tray and tongs to pick out your own pastry is genius; I normally would only get one, but we all got four EACH lol. I loved not having to ask/point for another one lol. The staff is lovely, lgbtq friendly, and answered my allergen questions knowledgeably. We went back three days in a row, driving all the way from outwest (north lawndale babyyy) to bring back baked goods for our neighbors. Unfortunately, my wife and I ate ALL OF THEM so we need to go back lol

Big shout out to the girl who helped me find the items that featured fig, she was funny and helpful
