Par’s cove is my favorite restaurant in Chicago. The unbelievable Persian cuisine combined with the intimate ambiance makes for a perfect dinner spot. Max Pars, the owner, is a kind soul caring for everyone who steps down into his cove. Places like this are rare these days, and it needs to be frequented and preserved.
Came here for the first time to introduce a friend to Persian food since it's close to his place. They sadly don't have tahdig (Persian crispy rice) but other dishes on the menu made up for it.
Kashke: An eggplant dip with bread. This one tastes great, and bread servings are generous which you use to scoop said dip.
Veggie Mediterranean: I didn't eat this dish but the person I was with enjoyed it. It's a medly of vegetables...

I dont like leaving 3 star reviews for what seems like a family-owned, non-chain restaurant, but am hoping this offers some chance for feedback/improvement.
First, the service was non-attentive. It was quite slow. Waters weren't being refilled. They didn't ask if we wanted sumac? At a persian restaurant, either sumac should be on the table or they should offer it, especially if someone who orders koobideh... there's only a rare persian who doesn't...
