The pasta was so so good and the sauces were perfect. My friends and I got 3 diff dishes between us and they were all incredible. The portions were great to share or take home leftovers.

Really fantastic Italian restaurant, one of the best we've been to in Chicago. We had the Rotini al Gusto and Pollo alla Parmigiana, with Tiramisu for dessert. Each dish was perfectly prepared and delicious. The service is also first rate. Great ambiance too. Highly recommend this spot, we'll definitely be coming back.

If the Location makes you feel skeptical, I wouldn't doubt you.Nestled near Tony's (great for late nite Tacos), you wouldnt expect much.Walk in and you feel like you have walked into someone's house. Not intrigued yet. Hold on....You have a seat, and you are suddenly embraced by the warmth of the wait staff. It feels authentically American-Italian. While the skeptic in you sips a glass of water, the mild aroma of clean flavors and a nifty peak into the adjacent table will force you to give the place a chance.I am not usually a fan of an Alfredo. And I remain constantly wary of the Vodka sauce. However, Call it Devine intervention or my innate niche of looking at food leaving the kitchen and connecting to the names on the menu, The Vodka sauce calls out to me.I order it.The food arrives and i must say it was rather comforting. It could have been the cold Chicago weather, or the trio of Tomato, cream and Vodka. It was just perfect. Is it authentically Italian? May be, Maybe not. I am no connoisseur. It tastes good. The garlic bread may need a bit of work, but the pastas are comforting. Including the Alfredo fettuccine my wife ordered. That's what you want when you got for Italian.Enough food to make you sluggish with Just Enough garlic to spook a Vampire. End it with some wine and a Tiramisu and you have a pretty good date night.Ya, It isn't fancy, but its comforting and I love it.Do check it out.

The vegetarian vegetable soup is delicious. The regular bread is disappointing--it lacks a nice crust and is very soft--maybe the garlic bread is heartier. Love the Tortellacci Pappalina"The Popes Pasta." The Lasagna Della Casa was really good, but some in our group found the smoked mozzarella a bit overwhelming, and the smokiness permeated the dish. Their Spaghetti Con Polpette is surprisingly good--generously sized, well-seasoned meatballs and tasty marinara sauce. We ordered it for a child but adults also enjoyed it. The Penne Alla Bolognese is also very good. Ordered for pick, and it was ready at the time they specified.

Listen, this place is weird. We were the only people in the restaurant and we asked to sit at the booth in the corner and they said no. They said we had to sit at a specific booth. Not sure why. But weird. Then the waitress took 15 minutes to come get our order for drinks. We brought a bottle of wine. I asked for a wine glass 3 times. She brought it soooo late it was awful. At this point, we genuinely wanted to leave. We can hear the kitchen gossiping and confused about our very basic order. I ordered gluten free rotini with vodka sauce with pancetta and chicken. They came out and said "do you want it with olive oil and garlic instead?" What?? That doesn't even make sense. No I want it with tomato sauce.Another waitress comes out with her, says "she's new" and clarifies the order again with me. Which, also very confusing. When we did get our food, it came out pretty quickly and was perfectly fine. Nothing special. Nothing mind blowing. But what a weird experienceDietary restrictions: It's fine

Highly recommend visiting at night. The Ambiance is great and romantic. The food is even better. Rotini Al Gusto was a hit, you can taste the high quality ingredients in every bite. I had a bite of my friends sea food linguini and it was amazing as well. The tiramisu has to be the best i've had in my life. $7 wine corkage fee and I believe they allow one bottle for two people.

I ordered the penne puttanesca for myself (as is; vegetarian), and my husband ordered the lasagna (eats meat). We also got the bruschetta as an appetizer, and the limon mascarpone. We had it delivered (5 stars for atmosphere lol).I cooked a beyond Italian-style sausage beforehand to add to my meal. The puttanesca was amazing, and my husband loved the lasagna. Things were packed super well, and labelled (5 stars service). The bruschetta was definitely a hold-over; I'll maybe try the cranberry salad or ravioli fritti next time. But an appetizer is an appetizer; the tomatoes were definitely fresh. We are currently so full right now, that I can't say anything about the mascarpone dessert. But the slice looks beautiful haha it's a big size. We'll for sure order again!

I ordered the Fettuccine thru Uber eats. I love the taste. Definitely my #1 fettuccine in Chicago right now.

What a cute little neighborhood place! Service was excellent, interior decor could use a little bit of romancing very basic. The food was excellent. Salads were big and delicious and fresh. My pasta was a little salty so next time I go, I'm gonna ask them easy salt. Dessert was a lovely tiramisu. Price points were good for the neighborhood BYOB people! Loved bringing our big bottle of yummy Red blend. with us. Highly recommend.

Pasta Al gusto is truly a hidden gem in the Chicago restaurant scene. My friend Meliton spent a lot of his youth in the kitchen learning his Italian Grandmother's secrets and you can taste it in every bite. I tried his Lasagna and was floored, the balance of flavors is just incredible. Everything Meliton creates has the a masters touch. Get there early, everything he creates is fresh and from scratch, so when he runs out, he runs out.
