Great service, reasonably priced food. Had gnocchi with wild mushroom, ravioli with king crab, duck confit papardelle, and spinch tortellini. All were great. Had bread service, although barely enough for 4 and burrsta and prosciutto. Everything was really good. Restaurant was pretty empty and quiet. Would definitely go back to try other things.

A hidden gem in west loop. Great appetizers and pastas, the ingredients seemed fresh and the dishes were very well prepared every time I went. Would recommend their wine list over the cocktails.

TLDR: Bad service. Frozen food. Overpriced/ poor value. Only serves bottled water, which is garbage.

We returned to celebrate the anniversary of our 1st date, which, sadly, took place here. We won't be back for year 2, not just because we'd never come back, but because there's no way this place is still open in a year.

It took about 15 minutes to get water, bottled, of course, because they have to run up the bill and be a wasteful as possible. The kid who served us (who I think served us the 1st time and who I'm assuming is the owner's son) apologized for the wait saying the rest of the servers quit that day. I would love to hear the hot goss on that!

Our over-priced one slice of bruschetta ($13) was good, and arrived about 20 minutes after we ordered.

Our main courses arrived 10 or 15 later, and could not have been more disappointing. My spinach tortellini were frozen in the middle. Not just cold, but FROZEN. Of course, I knew better than to wait for our server (who came by 30+ minutes later, after we ate and the plates were cleared, to see if we had gotten our entrees) so I ate most of it. It was just veggies so I was pretty confident I would not get sick from the undercooking.

My boyfriend ordered the special, which was $45 but described as including a wheel of pecorino and truffles. It was just pasta in a cream sauce with a few very small pieces of truffle on top. Any cheese was in the sauce. We didn't really expect a wheel, but thought there might be a lot of shaved cheese or something cute like a mini wheel. Instead it was just a typical pasta you can get anywhere.

We got out of there as soon as possible unwilling to also risk any more of our night on dessert.

Three servers walked out that day. The staff could not handle the volume and, rather than tell us that when they sat us, they waited until we ordered to tell us the issue. The kitchen had to 86 some of the apps. My date's tortellini was frozen on the inside. The truffle pasta special was good, but overpriced. All in all, not worth the money, especially given the competition in that area.

Well. Great job Pasta Veneta - you have lost my patronage! Very deceitful.
They charge 3% for using credit card but none for debit card users or cash btw. If you use your debit card they will change the final amount of the bill to reflect a higher tip which you did not authorize. I recognize that food industry is competitive but I find this to be so deceitful and cunning! If I had not taken a photo of my receipt they would have given themselves an extra boost without my knowledge.

I was so happy to find a local italian restaurant with homemade pasta but boy I found this type of sly demeanor very unpleasant. Hard to find this as an error on their part.

In terms of overall review - service was slightly below average relative to neighboring italian restaurants, food was salty to tasting. Pasta is definitely handmade. Ambiance was acceptable with a brick/mortar layout and large space to hold group dinner/lunch.

Will absolutely not return to this restaurant. I do not enjoy writing these types of review but I have to leave this review to let other patrons aware of this sort of unacceptable behavior!

Came in for dinner last week and the pasta was legit. Got the fettuccine alfredo, and it was creamy and delicious. My buddy had the lasagna and he couldn’t stop raving about it. Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because the service was a little slow, but the food made up for it. Cozy spot with a great vibe though. Will definitely be back for more pasta.

My wife and I have been dying to try Pasta Venetta — we live just down the street and walk our dogs past it almost every day, so the hype’s been building for a while. Safe to say… it delivered. Actually, scratch that — it blew us away.

The cacio e pepe was creamy and rich with just the right bite, the corn truffle ravioli was straight-up luxurious, and even the shrimp pizza, which felt like a wildcard, ended up being a total knockout. Every dish hit.

Our waiter Axel was fantastic — super chill, knew the menu inside and out, and nailed every single recommendation without missing a beat.

Definitely cracked my top 3 spots for Italian in Chicago — no question. Pasta Venetta is the real deal.
