Simply Pasteur was simply wonderful. The food was terrific and the enthusiasm of the Chef-owner communicative, joyous and special. The beautifully flower-adorned outside terrace adds an extra dimension of splendor and the fact that it is dog friendly will allow us to share our satisfaction with our dog, Danny Doodle!!!
A great dining experience out on their new patio. Food was quite good, but took a long time as they were understaffed. Everyone working hard, but the servers needed a hand.
The lemongrass breaded chicken had no breading. I was told only after the dish arrived it's because some people don't want the gluten. The dish was dry with hardly any vegetables. The cochichin noodle was also mediocre. The menu was surprisingly quite extensive. It would be better to offer fewer but better dishes. I won't be back for sure.
The food was so tasteless and service was very slow. Would not recommend and will not visit again.
Wonderful Vietnamese food in a quaint atmosphere in Chicago's uptown neighborhood. The patio space is lovely. We had the spring rolls, curried chicken, ginger chicken and coconut shrimp. All delicious!
As always the food is so fresh and delicious. The music is quiet and the interior is charming. The partially covered patio is a delight, with apple trees and landscaping. Excellent all around.
The food is excellent, the ambiance is relaxing (expecially the upgraded ourdoor space) and the staff and owner are friendly and helpful. Service tends to be a bit slow but overall I highly recommend this restaurant.
My husband and I went for a quiet birthday dinner at 8 PM, with emphasis on the "quiet". Pasteur had a lovely SOFT jazz music and a quiet hum of conversation around it. Perfect! The food and service were excellent. A memorable evening.
A wonderful evening. The food was tasty and well presented. The service was friendly and helpful. Do not come if you are in a hurry or impatient. It is slow, yet the pace fits a warm evening eating in their courtyard, with time for conversation and enjoying the moment. Will definitely be back. The work to spruce up the ambience shows well and just adds to a wonderful feel to a leisurely meal
Simply Pasteur is the best restaurant in the neighborhood. If you like Viet Namese cuisine, a fabulous outdoor dining, and authentic decor, this is the place. The family are wonderful to their guests, as well.

Beautiful dining room, with lots of space Menu is well curated for entrees that is vegetarian friendly as well as heat level to your preference.
Pasteur is a beautiful restaurant with a wonderful garden in the mild weather. The food is delicious with fresh ingredients and the menu offers excellent and varied choices. The staff is friendly and efficient and the delightful owner/chef oversees everything with ease and charm.
It was a very quiet Saturday evening over Memorial Day weekend. There was only one person serving the dining room, but she did an outstanding job; handing the bar and serving tables. The room was beautiful, the music was low and appropriate, and the food was excellent. We'll be back soon...
My 1st visit, and I can't wait to come back and sit on the balcony. The curry chicken was delicious (though not spicy as expected.) The Ginger Chicken was perfectly good, but nothing special. The negroni was also delicious.
Have been to Pasteur many times in the past. This experience was not good. There seemed to be 2 waitstaff for the entire restaurant, so service was very slow and not well coordinated. The food overall was subpar and wasn't nearly as good as it has been in the past. The environment is very nice as usual, but not a good meal for the price.
