Great Chicago Tavern. Old Style on tap. Malort behind the counter(ant your own risk, lol). Owner is awesome. Went here because growing up as a kid in Chicago I’ve been to taverns with the old man but never been to one as an adult. Would definitely go back here again.

Nestled within the unassuming streets of Garfield Ridge on Chicago's South Side lies Patrick's Tavern, a hidden treasure trove for those seeking an authentic taste of the city's history. If you're on the hunt for a place that whispers tales of yesteryears, this is it. Entering Patrick's Tavern feels like stepping into a time capsule. The epitome of an old tavern, it's small, dark, and quiet, exuding an allure that's rare to find in today's bustling world. The ambiance is steeped in tradition, with weathered wooden furnishings that have stories to tell and walls that could speak volumes if they could talk. Don't expect an extensive menu here; Patrick's keeps it simple with a modest offering of chips as their sole food choice. But that's not why you come here. You come for the ambiance, the history, and the camaraderie that's been cultivated over more than 70 years. This place isn't about the frills; it's about the genuine, unpretentious experience. At the helm of this beloved establishment stands Roger, a friendly older gentleman who seems to know every corner of the tavern like the back of his hand. His warm smile and hospitable nature make you feel like a regular from the moment you walk in, even if it's your first visit. For aficionados of local brews, Patrick's has you covered with Old Style on tap, a Chicago classic that adds to the nostalgic charm. But what truly sets them apart is their offering of Malort, a divisive drink that's often joked about for its acquired taste. Yet, if you dare to dream of becoming a dragon, this is your elixir. What Patrick's lacks in extensive options, it compensates for with authenticity and character. It's a place where the regulars have their stories, where the ambiance is the menu, and where every sip is seasoned with decades of history. It might not be for everyone, but for those seeking a genuine taste of Chicago's past, Patrick's Tavern is an indispensable gem. In a city that's constantly evolving, Patrick's Tavern remains a steadfast testament to the enduring spirit of a bygone era. If you crave an escape from the modern chaos and yearn for a slice of Chicago's history, step into Patrick's and let its timeless embrace transport you to a simpler, more nostalgic time.

awesome neighborhood bar where no one causes problems. Inexpensive beers on taps, wide variety of liquors. Mainly a shot and a beer place but they do have wine too. No pool table and no juke box. Just TV's

I've been drinking in this quiet neighborhood bar for over 35years, but there's a bartender PATTY , which at first hand you think would at first sight , would think she's a nice retired Lady from the neighborhood, WOW, in the epitome of the neighborhood " COODVA MUCH" , which is her choice, but not when you work serving the general public, She would work great in a women's prison, with looks to boot, SO, no longer will I darken the doorstep when "Pisda Patty is working or even drinking( maybe that's it , She's a Dry Drunk) take a nip, lighten-up , let the people that are spending the money, AND PAYING HER BILLS , DRINK, be Merry and enjoy life " YOU MISERABLE WORK OF Sh_rt", took a lot to write this without reminding myself 1000x's that I was raised by Women, and taught to respect Women, but the only Lady in her is because of The parts The Lord Gave "IT", and worst part is , I brought (6) of my real estate investors this day with me, needless to say, I'll look through the window first, before entering, ex specially with My investors who, usually in a neighborhood bar TIP VERY HANDSOMELY.... Now THE NORMAL DAYTIME BARTENDER "BABE" is a REAL LADY AND VERY NICE TO TALK TO......., pure Joe the Husband Of Ms. Personality(Patty)
