My wife and I stopped here while visiting Chicago about a month ago (just now getting around to this review). I don't recall my wife's meal, so I will only review mine. It was not good. What was delivered was not as described or pictured. Note that we did order from GrubHub, and we picked it up ourselves. Attached are two photos of what I was given and one photo of what I ordered from GrubHub.

Pear Chef's description was: House Fried Chicken Patty with Cabbage Slaw, Tangy Garlic Parmesan, Melted Provolone and a Touch of Chili Aioli on Challah

My sandwich did not have cabbage slaw (I guess they substituted cherry tomatoes and a few lettuce leafs). I can't prove it, but I personally don't believe this was house fried chicken. It tasted like a generic frozen breaded chicken.

I asked if I was given the wrong thing and (possibly the manager) offered to give me something else. I was too hungry and declined the offer. But they did apologize and give us some cookies that were very good and a carrot cake thing.

I stopped by here the other day since my butty had the chicken Caesar. This site is soiled. Everything is brand new. Thumbs up

A very delicious and reasonably priced restaurant given the quality! You can taste that the food is high quality and made with care. I've been here twice now, first I got the Tuna melt, and then I had the bang bang chicken. Both I would highly recommend, as they were awesome! Its worth giving this place a visit, if you're anywhere nearby stop in and get a bite to eat! They make it pretty quickly too which is a plus.

Whatever you do, dont order from here. Food was late (not a big deal), but in general, was god-awful quality. They clearly pick the cheapest ingredients - the 'chicken' had a totally different texture to chicken. The photos (which are AI generated), look nothing like the actual, delivered, food. None of us finished our meals. I will never order from here again. PS- Think many of the positive google reviews of this place are fake.

The food in this restaurant is extraordinary, as it's freshly made in the kitchen. For the fact that they make every single food from scratch, I got my food in less than 5 minutes, a lot faster than I thought! Not to mention, I was highly welcomed into the store by a handsome young man, and instantly felt at ease. Overall, I undoubtedly recommend PearChef if you want to have an affordable and delectable lunch!

Stopped by Pear Chef at 170 W Washington the other day, and man, what a find! Their Bang Bang Chicken Bowl was fire—crispy panko chicken over rice with fresh veggies and that signature bang bang chili sauce. Also grabbed the Cali Club sandwich; the combo of turkey, bacon, provolone, and avocado on brioche was on point. Spent around $25 for both, which is solid for downtown. The spot's got a modern vibe, and the staff was super chill. Definitely adding this to my lunch rotation.

Horrible experience! I placed an order here through Grubhub for 10 people in my office and the restaurant canceled the order out of nowhere. We were all really excited to try something new, and were left extremely disappointed and hungry. We had to scramble to find another restaurant that could feed us in time for lunch.

Pear Chef is a hidden gem if you’re looking for elevated comfort food with a modern twist. I had the braised short rib with mashed potatoes, and let me tell you—melt-in-your-mouth good. The meat was crazy tender, and the sauce was rich but not overpowering. Also tried the truffle fries, which were crispy and had just the right amount of truffle flavor without being too much. The vibe is laid-back but still upscale, perfect for a nice night out. Spent around $50, including a cocktail, which was totally worth it. Definitely a spot I’ll be hitting up again!

I’m a tourist, and walked in this cafe looking for a warm hearty breakfast. I was greeted with a big smile, and my request for breakfast how I would like it was not a problem at all. Amazing service and food!

Took an hour to get my food. Both entrees I ordered didn’t look anything like the pictures.
