Everything was fantastic. The food choices, the staff, and the guests were all on point. My dad saw some old buddies in there that had played hoops with him 50 yrs ago. The men that greeted me and took my order were great! Unfortunately, the food was not. I don’t eat meat so I got a side of mac, a side of mashed potatoes w/gravy, and cornbread. Nothing was seasoned, at all. Cornbread was super dry and the worst I’ve ever tasted in my life. I took a couple bites and threw everything in the garbage. There are better soul food places in Chicago, I’ll never be back here!

Went there this Easter my first time there didn’t know nothing about the place was just going to find soul food was looking to spend maybe about $100 for me and my disabled child and my baby I’m a widow I don’t have that much money I was shown so much disrespect and hate. I was unaware of what to do at their establishment for their buffet, they charge me $140 for nothing and they treated me rude. I didn’t have a dime when I left this place they wouldn’t even let me get a dessert. I will never go back to this place or recommended to anyone. They are money hungry and this is just not how you treat people and I told the gentleman over and over again I didn’t know anything about the place I just wanted to eat food I was charged so much money me and my kids didn’t eat nothing that costed $140 and I was so upset. I had a disabled child and a baby with me and they charge me all that money for nothing, I hate how y’all do y’all Community but I’m very upset

The food was unseasoned & bland. I ordered a custom omelet and it was terrible. The only thing that I found flavor in were the pancakes and shrimp & grits. The peach coffee was overwhelming with peach flavor and the music was way too loud for 10am. This place has some potential but needs to tighten up on taste and atmosphere vibes. Not to sure if I would go back. It would definitely be my last choice

The Waiter was AWESOME on 03/25th my sista/co-worker invited me here for my birthday it was a gentleman there during the hour of 11am. He appeared to be the only person waiting tables. He was very attentive to his guest needs.

Whatever my friends are family, come from outer town and look for the taste of southside so food I take them here. You have great taste. Nice portions faster and Grandma's flair of flavor. You can hardly find Yeast rolls to eat. But they do have them here. You can either sit in and eat. They have a buffet or order to go. They have desserts that are great, my friend. My friend ordered the green's potato salad the am's addressing and riv of a cake.

Everything was so delicious. I am from the south and have been looking for a soul food restaurant. My Husband and I made a bet and that bet lead him to located this restaurant. The only thing I didn’t care too much for by itself was the cornbread but pairing it with the collard greens made it a hit.Vegetarian options: Lots of options for vegetarians
