Every time I come to Pedestrian it is always my favorite experience. The staff are wonderful, and the coffee is immaculate. They are the only Cafe in Chicago that I know of that makes a Pour Over the right way, and the Hitch hiker scone is one of my favorite treats. I always look forward to when I can come here!

Had such a great experience coming back to an old favorite cafe! Our barista, Taylor, was so warm and friendly from the moment we walked in the door, and that continued throughout the rest of the experience. I had a cortado and a Brazil pour over, both of which were excellent. My brother got an iced mocha and said it was great. Thanks to the team for a wonderful experience!

Their coffee is always consistently good. I usually go for a simple latte, but that actually requires two basics that many coffee shops often overlook — well-frothed milk and good espresso. The ambience is lovely, with great seating and warm, cozy lighting. The shared bathroom is usually tidy and clean, which is always appreciated. What really stands out is that the owner is present and clearly cares, putting genuine effort into both quality and the customer experience — something that feels rare these days. And like many places, they are cashless due to risk of theft. It’s understandable, but also a sad reflection of the times we live in.
terrible service from the barista, she was really rude to me… pumpkin patch latte tastes so sour and weird, 1/10 for me 🤮

Update to say I think I’ve been priced out. I still love pedestrian but today I paid $22 for a scone and a matcha latte. As good as it was, I can’t justify that.
I’ve been to a lot of cafes in the city and this is my favorite. You can tell their baristas are excellent because of the consistent, superior quality of the drinks. Every food item I’ve tried, I’ve enjoyed. I hang out in cafes to work on my dissertation so I need a focused environment and this is it. It is a bit expensive, but you’re paying for quality.

Small coffee and food shop next to the Belmont red line. Started coming this month and from the moment I walked in it was the most relaxing spot for me post-chiropractor.
The girl taking your order with the enthusiastic demeanor is the best; when I ordered today she made sure to go above and beyond for me to check if they had an ingredient included on the breakfast menu. I ordered the bowl. Then, she made this with her own hands. YES IT TASTES AS GOOD AS IT LOOKS.
I really like this place. 10/10

The place was conveniently located next to the hotel I was staying. Once I stopped by the first day, I kept going back whenever I got a chance. Baristas make the coffee to the order and you can tell they love their work, the sandwiches are made to order, not the 1 minute microwave kind you get in other places. Their pastries were so good, I actually ordered two scones to go the morning of my flight back home. I enjoyed the warmth of all staff taking the orders, it was a highlight of my 5 days stay in the neighborhood.

They have literally the best hot mocha in all of chicago and its been our mission to find the best one. So far out of I think 30 small coffee shops pedestrian is the best! Their food is amazing too with the nicest people that make you feel like your home. Its a really special place we go to every week.
Good place to get a drip coffee. I had a simple one (flavored syrup and almond milk). It was everything I needed (caffeine and slightly sweet). I got mine to go, but it was comfortable inside had I wanted to sit and talk a while.
Delicious coffee, friendly service, nice atmosphere with plenty of seating. I also got the new egg sandwich with honey mustard on sourdough. So good.
Expired milk
Everyone was incredibly friendly, the strawberry basil iced matcha is absolutely delicious, and they even have yummy GF and vegan baked goods options! I also love that they use a lot of organic ingredients. Thank you, I will definitely be back!
