We had a wonderful lunch at Perilla - and had the great thrill of meeting one of the owners and creators of the restaurant -Thomas Oh. He was so friendly and helpful explaining the menu, the cuisine and the cultural underpinnings. The downtown steakhouse market is very competitive. Great food alone won't get you there. This place has great food - unique presentation with multiple small cuts to try a variety of steak types. But the service was lacking :
1. No Valet - even though the attached hotel offers valet - just not for the restaurant :(

A 100% must if youβre going to be in Chicago. The steak melts in your mouth and is seasoned to perfection. Perillas was one of the first things we ate because our hotel room had a restaurant credit and easily was the best thing we ate during our entire trip. We ordered the Korean breakfast tray with grilled mackerel and added the Prime skirt steak. When we came back the following day, we ordered 3 extra servings of the prime skirt steak with the breakfast platter. πππ½...
