We had an amazing time here. I have been to their original location in the north suburbs and enjoyed it, but found this location to be a more elevated and delicious experience. The menu is filled with French classics, but each dish had just enough of a twist to make them special. The ambiance is warm and lovely, modern but with some classic regality. We will likely come back to sit at the bar and enjoy some oysters when there isn't enough planning for a reservation.
Petit Pomeroy has a beautiful atmosphere — the space itself is lovely and inviting. Unfortunately, the food and service didn’t quite match the setting. Most of the dishes were just okay, with the beef bourguignon being the standout of the meal. The onion soup lacked seasoning, the duck fat potatoes were awful (it must be an acquired taste because they smelled bad) and overall, nothing really stood out. Service was also mediocre. It’s a nice place to sit and enjoy the ambiance,...
This is my favorite French restaurant in Chicago. The lobster risotto is spectacular with a deep seafood flavor, creamy texture and chunks of lobster in every bite. It’s divine. Everything we had from the steak tartare to the apple tart was on point and they made my birthday feel special.
