Great spot to catch a bite. The wife and I went for breakfast and it was fantastic. The atmosphere was super fun and funky in all the good ways. The staff was as friendly as could be! Everything was great the food was wonderful. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

Pick Me Up Cafe has that classic laid-back Chicago diner vibe with a quirky, slightly retro feel. The menu is huge, especially if you’re vegetarian or vegan — lots of creative comfort food options that don’t feel like an afterthought. I tried a vegan breakfast plate and it was hearty, flavorful, and super satisfying. The pancakes were fluffy and generously portioned, perfect for a slow weekend brunch. Service was friendly and relaxed, and the prices felt reasonable for the amount of food. It’s the kind of spot where you can linger, chat, and just enjoy a casual meal without any pressure.

Very happy with food. My only beef is why do restaurants continue to serve butter so cold it’s impossible to spread on toast?!

Food and coffee is good, nothing mind blowing but good. Servings are large. It has more coffee shop vibes than a diner, staff are friendly. They have great options if you are gluten free or vegan. But I must also point out that some gluten free options are also vegan, no choice there. Serves asks if allergy or preference.

We hadn't been to Pick Me Up since they moved locations forever ago. It was even better than we remembered! Felt like they had even more vegan options. Vegan mozzarella sticks were amazing. Service was friendly and fast. I just wish it was closer to me!

PMU Cafe, where have you been all my life? This is honestly the diner I’ve been looking for in Chicago. Open late, has fun, eclectic dishes, is reasonably priced. I loved the stir fry with tofu and the cocktail I had. Will be back!

Fun tables, and decor, good vegan options! I got the tofu Benedict and the vegan mozzarella sticks which were both delicious.
I also lost an important piece of mail at that cafe and the owner went through the trouble of sending it back to me!

The place so nice we went here twice!
My girlfriend and I came here twice in one day as part of a date and it was delightful both times. I only regret we didn't come for breakfast too!

This is one of my favorite places. It’s low frills but very funky decor. Each table has a different decoration on it and there’s a lot of artwork on display. There are a lot of vegetarian options. My favorites are the Vegan Sloppy Joe and the Falafel Wrap. I always get the pasta salad as my side. Portion sizes are large.

Options are scarce but the ones they have are amazing. Vegan Benedict and French toast are some of my favorites. The upcharge for vegan items seems unnecessary, especially for French toast. Could really benefit from some more options for tofu scrambles.
