Chicago is rising (or maybe already at the top) as far as a pizza town. We can’t forget about a mainstay like Piece that truly does New Haven style. And they brew great beer, too.

Pulled into Piece in Wicker Park around dinner time – snagged a medium red pie with sausage & giard, plus a pint and a taster flight. Crust had that char‑on‑edge snap, sauce offered a decent zing, though the cheese felt skimpy. TVs were tuned to the game and live band karaoke kicked off around 11 pm. Staff hustled even when it got packed. Brew medals are legit. Fun vibe, just shy of five stars.

I drove over an hour in traffic to enjoy what was my favorite pizza. I was told I could not sit where I wanted to because that table needed to be held just in case a larger party came in. It was initially stated the table was reserved, but conflicting stories from the server’s led me to believe the table wasn’t already reserved. Which was when the story changed from reserved to, “we need to keep this table open for a larger party. This was told to me by the server and a male manager. I wanted the table at the top with the big window). The table we were originally seated at,in the back of the restaurant easily seated six to eight people. If you had a party of six to eight, why not seat them there. It was ok to seat my party and I at a table in the back that could easily accommodate more people. But when I asked and was seated where I wanted to sit, it became an issue. Why is that??? We were denied something as simple as being able to sit where we wanted to. Was it racial? I don’t know. But it sure felt like it. And no I did not order anything. Very disappointed. I do not recommend at all.

Salt lick mistaken for pizza. Perhaps the saltiest pizza in all of Chicago...

Great vibe and pizza! I had a pint of their Hef which I find is difficult to experience a great one in most establishments, but Piece does a sublime job with their brews!! If I ever return to Chicago, I'll be coming back to experience this fantastic place again!!!

This was my first time back since Covid and boy what a letdown. In addition to the food being substandard, the service was horrible. We waited 10 minutes for a waitress to show up who then acted like a total jerk, annoyed at her job, who rushed us to order drinks apps and dinner all at once.

The nonsense, not mentioned, shoved in the bottom of the bill 3% employee insurance fee is a money grab, period.

I live right around the corner and, to be sure, I’ll never go back.

The beer menu was diverse and left an impression, and they had some Innovative and DELICIOUS pizza! I can’t believe I’ve never stopped by here. I’ll be thinking about this crust all week and we’ll definitely be back. The honey butter fried chicken pizza was *killer*.

One of the best GF crust pizzas I have ever had! It's made with rice flour and the consistency and taste and crispness are spot on. I had the sliced potato pizza and it was divine!

This was some of the best pizza I have had in a longtime. We got the meatlovers and a mushroom spinach pizza. Couldn't recommend this place enough.

The biggest complaint I have about this place, is the wait time.
I took my fiancé there to wait for 30 min, the entire time I was pissed because I could see several chairs and spots open. But I shut up and kept waiting. When I was finally about to leave, they brought us to the table that had been open since we got there. Had a couple of flies as well flying around the pizza that was served, they flew in as soon as the pizza came.

Aside from the crap hostess, the food and beer was absolutely delicious.
Think getting rid of these young hostess or maybe even training them better would help. Honestly never went back, and if I plan to. I’d rather just order via online.

I run a women's community group with 19,000 Chicago women in it. Most of these women are new to Chicago. I bring them to different establishments in Chicago. They told me to go somewhere else. Cool.

Disappointed in this place. I run a women’s community group and we go to different local establishments each month and they were very mean to us. Even telling us not to dine there.
