You cannot judge a book by its cover. The awning looks old, the lighting makes it feel like an old deli, but the food is on point. I wish the pierogi's had a little bit more oil/moisture/flavor, but I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Keep small businesses going!!
This is one block north of the Kimpton Hotel. What a fun local place. They have about 15 different pierogi dishes which are all quite good. The sausage isn't bad either. A very local diner with no frills just good food. I went twice and my wife also appreciated the diner.
I constantly travel several different Countries and most every town across half the United States. I found this place searching Google for 'pierogies' and also 'Ukraine food' near Chicago. Out of the 3 restaurants listed on Google this "Pierogie Heaven" was the closest in distance...but last in quality. Pierogie Heaven is not bad food, but also nothing special. Sorry but if you want more authentic and better quality pierogies, then I would recommend...
