Pistores Reviews
I absolutely enjoyed my lunch here yesterday! I've walked past here many times in the evening with my dog 🐕 and finally had an opportunity and excuse to come in to try their pizza.
I picked the Mary pesto pie 🥧 named after Chef Joel's Aunt and he personally came to my table straight from the kitchen to present it to me.
I enjoyed the texture, flavors and lovely presentation and the restaurant itself is charming, cozy and perfect to enjoy some gourmet comfort...read full review
Had dinner at PISTORES last night and it was wonderful experience. Lovely decor, nice people and FABULOUS food. Started with their chicken wings which were excellent. Then had a variety of pizzas. The sausage and pepper pizza was ABSOLUTELY the best pizza I have ever had. We will be dining at PISTORES on a regular basis. Congratulations to Joel and Andrea-
Pistores makes everything from scratch, all breads, croissants, pastas, sauces, you name it. The only food item I was told that they purchase already made is the ketchup. If you want a quality well made meal, dessert or cocktail, that was made with love and passion from the chef, this is your place to check out. Very fair prices, you’ll pay the same someplace else for a frozen something that was not hand made. Pistores is the new gem 💎 of River North. Chicago is not ready...read full review

Pistores is a restaurant that specializes in pizza, offering both Italian oven-baked thin crust and Detroit style varieties. Their crust is highly praised for its top-notch quality and perfect burnt/crisp texture. While the soups received mixed reviews, their garlic bread and unique house cocktails were well-liked. The establishment also serves a variety of small plates, pastries, and desserts, all of which are highly regarded. The husband and wife team, who met at French pastry school, are known for their culinary skills, with the husband having trained under the legendary Roland Liccioni. The restaurant is smaller than expected, so reservations are recommended on weekends. The welcoming service and chill vibe make Pistores a place worth visiting again. Customers have enjoyed the mushroom pizza (thin crust) and cacio and pepe pasta dish. The Detroit style pepperoni pizza stands out for its great burnt-cheesy edges and pillowy dough, though some find it a bit bland due to its thick crust. The atmosphere is trendy and casual, making it a nice addition to the area, with a clean and chic environment that includes a bar. There is excitement for the housemade gelato, which looks appealing. Overall, Pistores is a highly recommended spot for pizza lovers in Chicago.
