Watched the Chicago Marathon today from our table at Pistores while we had a very tasty brunch. I can recommend the pastries, the scrambled eggs, quiche and sausage. Excellent lattes, too.

Too late in food. They are not on there words and staff is too rude especially the lady at the bar and the guy in kitchen. I will not recommed.

We came to Chicago for the marathon and stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant. Being from out of town, we weren’t sure what to expect, but this was hands down the best dining experience we’ve had! Everything on the menu was incredibly fresh, and you can tell the chef takes pride in their work. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was top-notch. If you’re in Chicago, this place is a must-visit!

Drinks, desserts, and our appetizer were all really nice, but for some reason it seemed like the kitchen purposefully sent us a substandard pizza as punishment for their mistake.

We ordered the Goat Cheese with bacon on the side because half our table was vegetarian. It came out, looking amazing, with the bacon on the pizza so we had to send it back so people could actually eat it. The wait was very long, but company was good so we didn't mind.

When they brought out the remade one, it just looked naked, like a cheese pizza, and nothing like the first one where you could see the leeks and extra cheese.

Needless to say, we couldn't taste any goat cheese or leeks on the remade pizza, so we basically paid $30 for a plain cheese pizza.

Completely ruined the feeling of the otherwise extremely nice meal.

Wow. Updating the review in accordance with the response. Completely ignored the issues listed with the 2nd pizza compared with the first to be defensive.

Don't allow for edits if you don't think your dishes can withstand them. Goat cheese and leeks should still look and taste like goat cheese and leeks. Mind you, I ate mine with bacon - it was still a bad pizza.

Added photo evidence with our leftovers vs the regular pizza. These pieces have relatively more goat cheese than any of the others did - yet still hardly any. You can see the complete lack of scallions and near absence of both goat cheese and leeks.

The first pizza with bacon received looked very close to the example, just Detroit style.

I took one of the pastry/dessert to go. It was one of the best dessert I've had! The flavours were amazing balancing eachother. Light and rich all at once. Beautiful.

First, the owners are pastry chefs, which really makes sense. Their pizza is so light with a great crisp, and the toppings were well thought through. I loved every bit of my sausage and pepper pizza. The staff is so friendly, and I really enjoyed speaking Spanish with them. I can’t say enough about the crust, etc…. Ate the last two pieces cold three hours later and it was still great. Great people, great pizza.

Server kept trying to push appetizers on us and the focaccia sandwich came with dry, burnt chicken. The pizza is good though but for the price I'd go elsewhere

I was in the mood for gelato and Pistores had a sign out in front advertising it so we popped in to see what flavors they had.

Apparently the less fancy the gelato looks the better it is and when I saw that the four flavors were in little ice cream toms I got excited. I decided to go with hazelnut while my friend got peach. The texture of the gelato was really nice and the hazelnut flavor came through. Personally, it was a little sweet for me but that's just my preference.

We also tried The Strawberry, since the desserts in the display case were too beautiful to pass up. It was absolutely delicious and, in the best way possible, reminded me of a fruit roll-up flavor wise.

The staff were kind and were honest about the different offerings when we asked for recommendations or if they had tried flavors before. They also said that the pizza was supposed to be really good but we had just eaten somewhere else beforehand.

I'll definitely have to go back and try some of the food offerings and other desserts. There was an espresso-based cake in the display case that had my name written all over it.

My friends and I went back here two weekends in a row - it’s that good. Incredibly impressive that they can do both thin and Detroit SO well. The thin holds its shape and has a great chewy crispy crust and my God that Detroit pizza is so light.
15/10 recommend.
