Pita Express Restaurant

Room for improvement. The food is pretty good. Service is friendly. I’ve stopped here a few times and have had pitas, kebabs, and a few other items. Here’s what can get better and what will get me to stop more often. Let me add some hummus to my chicken pita. Maybe a couple tablespoons? Maybe for a small up charge? They don’t offer that option. I had to buy a side of hummus for $8 to enjoy a little hummus with my chicken pita. And then the side came with only ONE piece of bread. The hummus is REALLY good, but now I have a big bowl of hummus with no more bread to enjoy it with. Also, I prefer my hummus without pools of oil in it. A little drizzle, okay. But why drown the hummus flavor with so much oil? Anyway. Good place. Could be better. I’ll give them a try again and update my review if they’re able to raise the bar a little bit.

The cheese burger was delicious and bigger than the whopper. I could not believe it. I'm going to be back and bring my friend with me. She can't believe the meal was so delicious.

Good was good. Fries a little salty. Expensive for falafel.

They put more sauce in the wrap then meat.$20 for a wrap with hardly any meat and a soup. Place is a total rip-off.

We used to love this place - for the price it was good. We had been ordering the chicken shawarma every now and then but the last order we had, the feta on the fries was cubed and slightly huge - not the usual which was crumbled. It was so much better before. I hope they go back to doing that.

Edit: sadder they don’t even use feta cheese anymore for the fries after giving my first review and getting a response to consider going back. It’s just melted cheddar this time. They didn’t give us sauce anymore for the shawarma too.

Love the falafel wraps here. Perfectly balanced. Salty, savory, crispy, crunchy, tender, moist. My favorite neighborhood spot.

I come here all the time and their food and service are both consistently WONDERFUL! ❤️ The food transports well for takeout, but sitting in the restaurant's nice and cozy as well :)

I work in the area and have many options for lunch but I always fall back to Pita Express. Staff and owner are always very pleasant and hospitable. I typically get the lunch plate special without the rice. It’s a good value and the food is always great. I also use them for catering my department lunch.

Quick and tasty. Only had a few wraps (falafel, chicken, mixed) and I really liked them. Price is decent. Location is convenient near El and bus.

The food here is so fresh and delicious and the service is so friendly. We like to eat at the restaurant instead of taking it to go because they are so nice. My mom almost fainted from the steak kebab and said it was so delicious.

Love this place! I always go for the falafel plate or sandwich. It’s the best falafel anywhere. So moist. But I also love the staff, especially Moe, who is always so friendly and welcoming!
