We recently visited [Restaurant Name] and had an amazing experience. While the decor is quite basic, the food more than makes up for it. We enjoyed pierogies with sautéed sweet onions and fried kielbasa, both of which were absolutely delicious. I had the split pea soup, and my husband tried the cabbage soup—both were flavorful and comforting.
The highlight of our visit was the warm welcome from who we believe was the owner. The hospitality and genuine kindness added to our wonderful experience. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for authentic Polish cuisine!

Cute little old fashioned polish restaurant. The food was great and the service was good. Prices were fair, but selection was a bit limited.

Amazing food, just like grandma use to make. Amazing service to go along with it. One of the nicest families I’ve had the chance to meet!

Where do I start. First thing said, cash only and not once but twice. Then were told we’re closing in 15 mins, it was 4:45 and website says closed at 7. Next was asked what do we want to eat and asked for golumpki and was told we don’t have them. Then asked for a pork shank , again, was told don’t have that either. So then asked for pirogies and they did have those. They asked what flavor, I said potato and cheese and when they came, half were some kind of meat!! They were nasty, cheese was ok. Before we had two gone, we had to pay the “cash” bill and got the rest to go. I can’t recall ever being that rushed out of an establishment.

The menu was more limited than shown, but what was available was great. The atmosphere is very much that of an old Polish restaurant, just what I wanted.

I really loved this place BUT I was going in looking at the prices and thinking it was going to be divey homey vibes on the economic side of things like Bai Café. I went bc some of my friend have gone and I’m always looking for home-made lunch spots. I walk in and realize is cash only so I go to chase and come back. As soon as sit down the owner asks me which soup am I gonna get, and I assumed it was part of the lunch time deal, like either included or complimentary. I asked for a rec and he said cabbage. He did say he was going to give me a complimentary juice which was a tasty hibiscus cold drink. Then I wanted an “one-dish” entre item and asked for something with meat, I said I wanted something not so expensive like the items on the “one-dish” menu. he showed me the dinner menu which most items start at 17, i said I was looking for something in the one-dish menu which is less expensive. He was like oh I could make you some pierogis with a grilled polish sausage and I said yeah like anything around 10 or 12 dollars and he was like nothing here is 10-12 dollars, the most expensive item on the “one dish” menu is 12.75. I said okay yeah that sounds good. Then I got a coke. When I got the bill was disappointed to see that he had charged me 7.50 just for the sausage and what kinda looked like a side portion of pierogis (7 of them?) for 12.75, soup was 5 something. All ended up being $33, and then when I asked for a box he gave me a styrofoam cup instead. I was polite and even made small talk with him. But I was disappointed to have been pressured to spend all of that money when I was looking for something like Bai Cafe ($15 lunch soup + entre + drink) and he knew I was after that, i made it very apparent in conversation, I even said I would bring my friends. But by the end I felt totally pressured to spend that amount of money where $33 to me, means 2 days worth of food at a divey old family owned spot like that… I was excited to make it my new lunch spot near work, Chicago is not the same…
I know maybe some of you will say, go to Bai Cafe then. I would have if I would have known what I was getting into, I tried to figure it out before I was cornered to get what I got and pay what I paid :/
Food was p good tho!

Food was not very good, place was not clean, did not appreciate the male person ordering for us instead of us ordering from the menu, scammy cash only no receipt. If you are looking for a authentic polish food experience go elsewhere.
Off the chain Polish food!
The food, restaurant, and staff all make you feel like you’re at home. We got cabbage soup, white borscht, pierogis, sausage, potato pancakes, blintzes, and the homemade juice. You really can’t go wrong with anything here, it’s all so good. Cabbage soup and blintzes are cannot miss.
Make sure to bring plenty of cash because you’re going to want to try everything!

Quaint and homey! This old school restaurant serves delicious Polish food. We visited from out of town, so the owner hooked us up with a sampling of their favorites. The soups and main courses were delicious.

No frills, comfy and homey restaurant nestled in Wicker Park/Noble Square. Great service and we were well taken care of. Our server knew it was our first time, so he offered a little of everything and their specials and everything was delicious. Incredible sausage, soups, cheese blintzes. You can't go wrong with anything here, including the homemade juice. Awesome food, friendly people, and it felt like I had stepped into my Chicagoan grandparents dining room in Elmwood Park. Drop by if you are in the mood for some authentic, incredible food.
