I had the Baked Penne Pasta (with extra mozzarella cheese) & it was delicious! I had enough for leftovers; would definitely order it again!

Took a co-worker out for lunch on her last day of work before she retired and Didn’t like the fact my salad was brown un fresh and saturated with Italian pressing. Hasn’t been to Pompei in a couple of years but wasn’t expecting the food to be subpar😔

My partner and I dined here for the first time and had an okay experience. The employees were incredibly kind and helpful and were quick to answer our questions and help us out. We ordered pepperoni pizza, hot wings, and a steak sandwich. The pizza was nothing extraordinary. The hot wings were a bit vinegary for my taste and nothing to write home about. The steak sandwich was also a bit disappointing. The bread was nice and soft but the sandwich lacked in flavor and the meat was a bit dry. The fried potatoes were good. Overall most of the things we ordered had the feeling and taste of “reheated” food rather than flavorful made to order food. The price was a bit steep as well. The space was a bit squishy but had a homey vibe to it and although it was a bit loud and echoey, I could see the value of having a welcoming cafeteria-esque interior to gather with friends.

Pompei offers a great variety of pizzas, sandwiches, salads and daily specials. The soup of the day was awesome — and the “small” portion was anything but small! The steak sandwich was equally delicious and full of flavor. You place your order at the bar, and they bring everything to your table, making the experience quick yet comfortable. A solid spot for a casual and satisfying meal.

Great ambiance. I will go back for spinach dish or vegatarian spaghetti. Yum
Improvement needed that ALL pasta must and should be al-dente as a norm in Italian restaurants period. Thank you♡
The spaghetti and the spinach dishes were good.
Marinara was great!!

Food was a disappointment. Expensive and flavorless: the chicken Alfredo pasta with chicken and broccoli was watery and flavorless. The meatball strudel was okay. The only good thing I ordered was the calamari.

Pompeii in Chicago has always been a favorite for me and my mother—we made it a weekly tradition whenever we were in the area. Their salads are fresh and delicious, and the pizza calzones are always hot, hearty, and satisfying. The service is quick and friendly, and the food is consistently top-notch. It’s sad that some North Side and downtown locations have closed, but this one still delivers the classic Pompeii experience we’ve loved for years.

Ordered for pickup the fettuccine Alfredo pasta with broccoli and chicken. I’m very picky about my pasta and this pasta really made my day better. It tasted so fresh, delicious, hot, and it didn’t upset my stomach so I was able to eat a lot of it. Usually with pasta like from Olive Garden, their stuff upsets my stomach and I instantly want to nap. But this was more than likely made with fresh ingredients and no preservatives. I give it a 5/5! The only weird thing was the cashier by the pick up area was slow paced and didn’t acknowledge me but she did acknowledge some customer that entered the restaurant much after me. Maybe they’re understaffed idk.
