The food is ok, but I have to be honest… this place is so over priced and pretentious it’s unreal. My gf and I ordered 3 plates and the total was over 100 dollars. The portion sizes were so small, you literally couldn’t share. When I say small, I mean bite sized. We had two crab cakes that were literally the size of Oreos (and cost about $30). We also ordered the flank steak (which did taste good, but I wanna say it was less than 6 ounces and came with 3 small finger potatoes (another 30$). You’re so much better off going to a place like Giant which does similar shareable plates, but much better food and more generous portions for similar prices. The restaurant itself is cramped, loud, and just not a great vibe.

Unfortunately one of the poorer martinis I’ve had in my life. It was shaken so hard it was like a slushee, and served up by the bartender even more coldly. This was our second time trying this place and it will be the last.

My husband and I went for lunch and enjoyed it. He's a very traditional eater so the lack of french fries to go with either the sandwich or burger was a disappointment to him. So he went with the breakfast plate and again was disappointed that there was not toast option. That seems like a petty comment but the lack of sides with the dishes is a little odd to us.
The crab croquettes were absolutely delicious but as they forewarned, they are very small. I wish they upped it to three and accompanied it with at least a small salad to make it a real dish.

Went for lunch. The atmosphere is very enjoyable. The food is delicious, perfectly sized, well plated!! The service is extraordinary!! One of our party cannot eat seeds. The server, twice, came back to the table to offer alternatives to the seeded bagel. The chef came to the table to ask if cross-contamination was an issue. Absolutely fantastic staff!!

Hands down the best cheeseburger I’ve ever had… and it was at a wine bar. I’m hesitant to even leave a review because I don’t want other people to find out about this place. It’s quaint, it’s simple, it is by no means in your face. It’s infectiously casual, yet refined. I didn’t research much before coming here but it is more than apparent that Michelin stars are a part of the creative process. My *cheeseburger* was assembled in the same way that a song is composed, each ingredient with its own flavor- perfectly balanced with its counterparts. I’m eager to return and try everything else on their menu.

Such a bummer! I am a gluten free pescatarian and reviewed the menu and there was a wonderful sounding black cod dish I couldn’t wait to try. Got there for happy hour so husband could get a burger. Then look at the menu and it’s TOTALLY different from what’s on their site right now. No black cod and only a FRIED WHOLE FISH! I don’t eat fried and def not head and bones fish. There was literally nothing else for me but a salad which might be ok for lunch but def not dinner. So we went across the street to Mirra which was great and saved the day for me! I don’t think we will be back to Pompette. Server was so nice and felt bad but suggested I review the carry out menu to get the accurate one? What? Just update the menu on your website so there are no surprises.

Such a great wine bar serving most delicious dishes! First time here & nothing disappointed us. Our server was a delight with great recommendations on both drinks & food. Highly recommend the marinated olives & Manchego which were seasoned well & slightly zesty. The short ribs with polenta was the star, but I’m also a sucker for fried green tomatoes which were so light despite being fried. Began with a slightly briny wine, then the Olive Oil cocktail (a twist on the Dirty Martini but less salty), & ended with red wine & herbal tea. For a Wednesday, this place was packed. Would recommend reservations or getting there early to snag a spot at the chic yet modern bar. With a seasonal menu, I can say we will most definitely be back.

From the moment we sat down, our server, took care of our every need. It was our first time dining here and they walked us through the menu, suggesting wine pairings along the way. The food was delicious, Pompettes is a wine bar and way more.

I really wanted to love this place but we had a poor experience. We got seated fairly quickly because we had a reservation. It was a friday night and they were booked so it understandably took a while for someone to take our order but when they arrived the waiter had a bit of an attitude. We definitely wanted to try wine but the prices were quite high so we got two glasses of the cheapest option which is the part that I think they took issue with (that we got glasses and not a bottle). We also ordered 2 medium plates, 1 large plate and a cheese plus meat. The food was good but the portions are very small and pricey. I personally do not think its worth the price for the food. The wine though was very good and tasty.
If you are a wine person, this may be your place! I am just discovering the wine world but I would come back for more tastings for sure (once I’m ready to drop $60 on a bottle).
Overall, I think this place is just okay. The hostess and the waiter really rubbed us the wrong way. It felt snobby and pretentious. And the food prices and portions are just unjustifiable. My advice is to just go for the wine.
