It was a party of 5 orders not really complicated. Simple arroz con gandules and pastels, mofongo no meat and shredded beef and rice. The rice and pastel was cold, I don't mean luke warm. I mean flat out cold. Almost as if was left on the counter for an extended amount of time. Mofongo contained meat and by the time the shredded beef came everyone else was done. Food, service, price and definitely gratuity was not at all a good experience. I understand having to work for a living. However you can be busy and still be attentive. You can still be busy and be able to individualize or at least compartmentalize. Simple you can be able and present in order to properly serve them.

Visited from Wisconsin for the food. Always delicious. This time I had a big order through the website and all items were in it. I’m satisfied of their service.

Don’t place orders through the website, they won’t follow up on them. The waitress said it’s better to call, but they won’t pick up the phone. I heard quite a few different calls ringing during the 30 minutes I waited for an order that I had placed 45 minutes before getting there and no one was picking up, it wasn’t terribly busy either. The food isn’t as good as it used to be, and the service is worse. The frituras are under par, they soak too much oil and have very little filling to them, the tostones are always hard, and the rice is hit or miss, but it can be amazing sometimes. Ordered carne guisa and only got 3 little chunks of meat, but it was decent as far as flavor goes. They haven’t lost me completely yet, but the other options in the area keep looking better and better.

Excellent food. The best fried pork is made her for sure. However, the restaurant needs more servers.

Puerto Rican culture is one of the reasons I love Chicago! It seems when people visit Chicago they go for deep dish, polish sausage, Italian beef, etc and don't know about the Puerto Rican food! I'm originally from southern California and we don't have a lot of Puerto Ricans out there so the PR food options are limited. Ponce offers so many amazing Puerto Rican appetizers and dishes. The coffee is really good too! I try to stay away from sugar but decided to try their coquito iced latte. So freaking good! Love the bacalaito and bistec en salsa jibarito. Another plate I enjoy is the bistec en salsa with arroz con gandules.

Great food!!! But employees are often distracted (at least recently) and either forget some items or mess up your order completely.
