I love this restaurant, but the past three times I ordered carry out via telephone I’m always waiting for my food when I get there. I order the Pollo Chioggia at 5:33 PM with an estimated 15-20 minute wait. I did not receive my food until approximately 6:05 pm. The meal is always delish but I wish the carry out process was timed better.

We ordered the Gamberi all’Aglio, but the shrimp was overcooked and tasted like it had been drowned in canned tomato sauce — no real flavor or seasoning at all. My husband had the Salmone Grigliato 8oz grilled medium rare Scottish salmon filet*, fresh lemon, fresh parsley, Kosher rock salt, sautéed spinach, parmigiano-reggiano, fresh parsley which was plain and not cooked as requested and no fresh basil did not see the fresh lemon nor the tasted the parmigiano-reggiano.
I tried the Burger of the Week (½ lb Prime Angus beef with cheddar, crispy onions, sliced tomato, garlic aioli, and fries). Unfortunately, it seemed more like the “burger of last week.” I ordered it medium, but it came out overcooked and dry, missing the sliced tomato and topped with an overcooked slice of cheddar. I showed my server, and his only response was, “I told them there was stuff missing on the burger, but they don’t listen.” Yet he still served it as-is.
Overall, I was disappointed with the food. The drinks were fine, but the service was slow, and the meal took a long time to arrive. I live in the neighborhood and always try to support local businesses, but after this experience, I won’t be returning.
If you want to just have Pizza and wine I guess this will be the place . But definitely not a bistro .In short, a bistro is meant to feel friendly and comfortable—somewhere you can enjoy good food without the formality of an upscale restaurant.
Regrettably, our visit did not meet the expectations we had for quality, service, and overall dining experience.

This Bistro is in a nice spot in Lakeview, just a block from Broadway. The atmosphere is nice, and when the weather is good the outdoor seating is lovely. The service was fine, nothing spectacular but no issues.
Unfortunately our meal was very disappointing. We started with the Focaccia, which had nice flavor but was somewhat tough and had a tight crumb, not airy like you’d usually expect. I had the Linguine Padovani, which was completely under-seasoned—including the pasta itself! The pasta is box pasta, which isn’t inherently a bad thing but if you aren’t going to make fresh pasta your overall dish really has to sing (especially at this price point), which this one didn’t. The sauce was very oily, and again lacked seasoning. Adding a few shakes of table salt did bring it to being a decent flavor but not something one should have to do.
My husband got the seafood lasagna which he thought was underwhelming and a bit stodgy, as well as under seasoned. Overall a very disappointing experience considering that food and drink altogether cost $100 after tax and tip!
Also—a 2.75% surcharge is incredibly dubious behavior. Just raise your prices! Don’t sneak it in after the fact.

Pretty good but………
I was still hungry when I left …..
at an Italian restaurant one should never leave hungry.
I ordered salmon medium rare and it came out perfect - with spinach but I actually said out loud “ ha! Is this a kids’ meal?” But since it was a runner who served us the runner ran away quick. It was very good - excellent quality salmon and spinach but the huge crystals of kosher salt needed to be removed by hand - order it without the salt chunks - it looked like they put rock candy on top ( I found out that kosher salt is rocky)…. It didn’t need it one bit!
My adult son went with a pasta with meat sauce / it was tasty and plentiful. My wife ordered the ensalada Mista (9$ / large size - they have a small for 5$)
Salad was good but I couldn’t really find the tomatoes - a good amount of lettuce but though the menu says there are other veggies in there - it wasn’t so.
The wife also had an individual pizza w ricotta cheese and lemon. It was very different and interesting / she liked it a lot.
They should give you bread when you sit down. They don’t.
They should have real Parmesan cheese - they don’t - it’s Kraft processed.
They should have the pepper mill to crush pepper on your salad and pasta - they don’t.
The waiters are nice . But they take your order , they ask if everything’s ok , and they get 22percent?! I think now that waiters in Chicago are making 15 an hour we don’t have to tip 22 percent anymore. I think Chicago diners who no longer have to supplement the typical 4$/ hour server wage should drop the tipping to 10 percent .., just saying..,
The restaurant is quite dark inside and there are no candles and no tablecloths.
Overall I will return bc thinking about it - the food is good - and it’s great to have them in the neighborhood.

PR Italian Bistro is a true neighborhood gem and one of my absolute favorites. The food is always delicious, the vibe is cozy and welcoming, and Kyle is absolutely wonderful! She goes above and beyond to make every visit feel special. It’s always a treat to come here — whether it’s for a casual night out or something a little more celebratory. I love supporting this local spot, and they never disappoint. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out!

I cannot rave bout this place more! Once getting into Chicago I was craving Italian food, but not the traditional red sauce and noodles! I found this place on a whim and I was blown away by the menu. I sat at the bar and received the best service this evening.
Don’t hesitate to stop here. You will not be disappointed.
