I don’t know who the chef is but I can’t get enough of that egusi soup! I never actually went and ate at the restaurant but I always order and they deliver. I always get it not too spicy due to my heartburn. You get e nice portion of soup and the goat meat as well. Never been disappointed and will continue ordering from them!

The food is tasteless. Not the Quaato of the past. The smell of the stew is just indescribable ( both ogbono and ewedu) and the jollof rice was tasteless. The chicken has no taste. Good bye.
Stopped by Qaato African Restaurant for lunch last Saturday—had the egusi soup with fufu and their beef kebab. Man, the soup was rich and cozy but fufu could’ve been softer. Service was friendly but kinda slow. Also grabbed their tamarind juice to wash it down. Overall, vibes are chill and decor’s colorful. Would dig more vegan sides next time.

I’ve been craving some fufu and decided to try this place. From the entrance to the register, the place did not look too kosher. A woman asked me if I called or placing an order? I told her ordering, and that was the last I heard from her. Stood there for ten to fifteen minutes and never took my order. That was the first and last time they will see me. Might need to do an inspection of the place.

If you're craving authentic West African flavors in the city, Qaato's the spot. I grabbed the Egusi Soup with Goat Meat and Amala—rich, hearty, and packed with spice. The goat was tender, and the soup had that perfect balance of savory and spicy. Portions are generous, so it's well worth the $20. The vibe inside is warm and welcoming, and the staff makes you feel right at home. Definitely a go-to for anyone looking to enjoy real African cuisine in Chicago.

Food was not Good. Okra Soup Barely had any seasoning. I told her to make the food very spicy. My husband can’t eat it unless it’s Spicy, it wasn’t Spicy at all. The little pieces of meat didn’t have any flavor inside. 4 tiny pieces of meat was not worth the $20. Then the Jolof Rice was the nastiest Jolof I’ve ever tasted. On top of it all. Poor Customer Service from the beginning to the End. Won’t be coming back.

I love this place, the staff, and the food. I've come since 2019 on and off and I especially enjoy the egusi and the ayamase with goat. But unfortunately my body hasn't been tolerating meat anymore. I'd give this restaurant a 10 if I could. Best restaurant food I've had in general.
