The food, decor, and overall cosy ambiance are all complemented by the attentive and kind service! Definitely worth it - if we lived in town we'd be regulars without a doubt.

Great food within a cozy location. Visited on Saturday with a reservation. Enjoyed Chipotle Chicken and Steak Fajitas. Both were cooked to perfection. Highly recommend for the food and service but do not go if you are looking for a place to have a quiet conversation. The atmosphere is lively and vibrant. We will return!

My love and i came in from Lombard to see a show at the theater down the street, stopped in for a quick margarita and ended up staying gor hours, canceling our dinner reservation for the restaurant down the street. The warmest, coziest, most charming Mexican restaurant ever! Bright beautiful colors, gorgeous eclectic Mexican art covering the walls, fantastic music, the most delicious, freshest food, and the kindest owner Patty who so graciously welcomed us and made us feel so invited into her beautiful sanctuary of a restaurant. Will happily be making the hour drive from Lombard anytime we are craving margaritas and fajitas :) the festive Halloween/ Day of the Dead decor was the cherry on top.🍒

Unfortunately this was pretty bad food. We had mole with pork. The pork was off, or something on the plate was off. The rice was not flavorful and was undercooked.

Fajitas had dry and unseasoned chicken.

Price was a bit higher than other parts of the city for the dish and portion

We LOVED our experience. Have been wanting to try for quite some time and decided to drop in one night. It was delicious. It seemed like everyone in the restaurant knew the employees and even other tables. It was a warm vibe! Now the food, amazing! Everything we ate was the best Mexican food around. Trust me, the cream of jalapeño soup will change your life. Would recommend supporting this great neighborhood business!!

Whether you’re planning a romantic date night, wrangling kids for a fun family dinner, or just escaping a rough Tuesday at the office, Que Rico delivers every single time.

And the magic behind it all? Patty.
She’s not just a restaurateur — she’s a hospitality genius. Patty has a way of making you feel like you’re not at a restaurant, but in her home. Her warmth is genuine, her attention to detail is impeccable, and the love she pours into every element of the experience is unforgettable.

The food? Mouthwatering. The atmosphere? Cozy and vibrant. The service? Flawless.
But it’s the heart and soul Patty brings that sets Que Rico apart.

I’ve never had a bad experience here — because Patty simply doesn’t allow for one. She and her team are that good.

Come once, and you’ll be hooked. Come twice, and you’ll feel like family.

In the city visiting & stopped by here. They were closing within the hour, but the food came out hot. The birria tacos were really good. However, I wish they cut the meat a bit thinner. Hard to chew with the tortilla. Also had the beef nachos & they were good.

Stopped by Que Rico for lunch last weekend—totally vibey spot with sombrero decor and a chill patio. I grabbed the chicken enchiladas and a horchata, ended up dropping about $28 before tip. Enchiladas were solid—nice sauce, good cheese pull—but the beans were a bit bland. Still, service was warm and the ambiance felt festive. I’d definitely roll through again when I’m craving Mexican with a laid‑back patio vibe.

First time in after passing it in our neighborhood for years- and we had a wonderful time! No problem getting seated at 6pm on a Friday. The place seems small but they have a large hidden back room.

I got the chili relenos dinner which was some of the best I’ve ever had. The cheese was excellent and I loved the toasting on the top. This place does not skip on the details.

We got the 1/2 premium margaritas pitcher which was perfect for 2 people to kick off a Friday night. Great value. Between our meals, the drinks, and chips- we spent only $70. Will definitely be back!

Que Rico Mexican Restaurant on Southport is a cozy spot that brings a festive vibe to your taco cravings. I stopped by for a solo dinner and ordered the Mole Enchiladas ($14.95), which were rich and flavorful, and the Chiles Rellenos ($16.95), stuffed with chihuahua cheese and topped with ranchero sauce. The portions were generous, and the flavors were on point. The complimentary chips and salsa were a nice touch, and the margarita was strong and refreshing. The staff was friendly, and the ambiance had a warm, rustic charm. The only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars was that the rice could use a bit more seasoning, but overall, it's a solid choice for a casual Mexican meal.
