Best Sushi in Chicago! We love this restaurant and come here at least 2 times a month! Simon and his team are amazing and we just LOVE the sushi here. Our favorite in Chicago!

It was really a nice place especially if you live in the North side area of Chicago. Small and Cozy Japanese restaurant that really satisfy your palate. Foods are really amazing, I enjoyed everything. I just hope service would be much faster. Overall I will still give it a high rating for their hospitality and great food. 🄰 Thank you for giving us a lot of free sushi's and desserts. Will definitely come back here. šŸ˜

Phenomenal all around. The scallops. The Omega Roll. To die. And our waitress was very helpful in deciding what we'd like and how much to get. 10/10

I’m honestly shocked by the number of strong reviews for this restaurant. The server was very nice, though service itself was paced poorly with one of us waiting 20 minutes for his meal after the other was served. Cocktails tasted like there was no alcohol and was extremely watered down. Miso soup was almost entirely devoid of miso. It tasted like instant Hondashi granules that someone for got to add miso to. It was served room temperature and was awful. Tempura appetizer bore no resemblance to Japanese tempura. Instead of a light, airy and crispy batter, it was dense breadcrumbs like you might see on frozen shrimp. It may have been panko like you might find on a deep fried tonkatsu cutlet, but it doesn’t belong in something being called tempura. The tempura green beans were slimey and inedible. We ordered two appetizer salads; a seared tuna salad and mixed healthy green salad. They were identical save three flavorless pieces of tuna on one. What appeared to be bagged greens were served with dried cranberries, sliced apples and supposedly a ponzu dressing. Any ponzu in the salad was masked by an overly strong vinegar flavor. Hard to eat. One might be happy with the gigantic size of the salad, but it’s billed as an appetizer. The sushi was fine. I steered clear of the ā€œsignatureā€ sushi that paired items like grapefruit, lychee, jalapeƱo, and mustard dressing that would totally mask the delicate flavors of the seafood. The atmosphere was extremely loud with my husband and I struggling to hear each other as people spoke louder and louder in an attempt to be heard over the din. This space could use some soft surfaces and sound attenuation. This is not good Japanese food. I’d say it’s perhaps something that uses Japanese food as an inspiration, except that, even then, the food was pretty bad. Way overpriced for what you get. And the best part? My husband ended up with what we’re pretty certain is food poisoning. Never again.

Raisu was fantastic! We were celebrating our child's birthday, so they provided cake with a candle. The sushi was delicious and service was outstanding!

Probably the worst sushi i've had in my life! Presentation of them is nice and maybe ingredients are fresh but maybe the cheff doesnt know how to pit them together properly so it taste good. Ordered spicy sake suchi, philly, unagi maki, california and black widow. Out of the whole order only california roll was good. The rest tasted terrible. Couldnt even eat it and will have to through it in a garbage. I am a big fan of sushi so is my girlfriend and we order them pretty often. This was definitely my first and last time ordering at this place!

Excellent meal for both me, and my wife who follows a vegan diet. Great ambiance, and so happy to see this restaurant in my neighborhood. Thank you for making my birthday special

Festival when you enter a restaurant it is not a good idea to see a seat that needs to be repaired. There was a great big tear in the fabric of the seat that we set in. If you cannot afford to repair it, maybe put it at the back of the restaurant. Secondly, the servers need to know what the portions are. My husband ordered sushi and we asked how many slices you got and he was told three thin ones or maybe two sick ones. You got one. One sick one but apparently lastly he ordered soup and that came after his sashimi after his seafood salad and he sent it back. Not a great night

Always a great experience at this place but now it seems Chef have upped their game on the beautiful dish presentation. High quality well prepared food in a relaxed atmosphere. My kind of fine dining.
